Got a phone interview with Wayne State University next Thursday. Pretty stoked. Their stipend is decent, the rents in the area are pretty much the cheapest on my list of places, and their a bridge away from Canada, so I can finally make use of my passport (and escape the US in case shit hits the fan).
The professor who emailed me was named Dr. Wurm. Literally the first thing I thought of was a They Might Be Giants song called Dr. Worm. Thankfully he is a real doctor, but he's unfortunately not a real worm.

The page has always been minimalistic in its design but I only notice now while I'm on desktop (and not on mobile like usually) that it's... pretty shitty. Maybe it's because the font looks like it's not shown properly. Or the font-size being too small on this computer's screen. Or because it lacks responsiveness. Going back home today. Hopefully my parents have gotten better with my name and pronouns since last time I visited.
All my friends left for break before me so now I'm all alone, waiting to be picked up. It's a strange feeling. I've gotten so used to seeing them everyday and I've grown so close to them. We're like a family. It's gonna be weird to not see any of them for about a month.

You are not saying true things in a harsh way like NZP or Chronos. You make assumption to hurt people and these assumptions are sooo far from reality, that in no way you can see it as 'possible true' or as a real advise. When Shiro said that she feels that some people couldn't be trusted, you assumed that she was rping or that she was cyber bullied, what is totally out of context and in the end everybody is depressed in your view. You could better assume that Shiro had some bad experiences in the past and can't trust people now because that would sound like a good explanation of Shiros 'paranoia'. But not rping or cyber bullying.
NZP would have told her that she is really paranoid and would have congratulated her for finding it out now. It would be bullying, but like a black humor joke and nobody would ban him. Chronos would maybe say something like that all humans are bad and the whole world is also bad and that Shiro was a idiot because she even had faith in humanity before, something dark and negative maybe.
What is the difference between you and NZP and Chronos? It is that NZP and Chronos say their opinions to the topic. (Here in this exemple) NZP thinks that Shiro is paranoid and says his point of view and Chronos thinks (in this exemple) that all humans are bad and Shiro is an idiot because she didn't realize it until now. Opinions. Nobody would be banned for a opinion. It is clear that NZP and Chronos want to provoke/bully with their opinions and that it is maybe not their real opinion, but opinions are always ok.
What you do is totally diffrent because you don't have a opinion, you make a wrong assumption about the poster and try to convince them to believe you and claim that you say the truth. You do too much and it is so obviously trolling and when somebody says that you are trolling you say 'yes because I like it when other people are angry'. I don't know what NZP would say, but I'm sure that Chronos would find a way to prove that he is not trolling only to start a discussion and to corrupt the thread surely.
What I want to say is that It annoys me that you are a tryhard and troll so desperate that it really has no quality. Try a more decent style and show more brain and I will never report you again. But what you did in Shiros Thread was so cringe I can't find the right words to explain it right. It wasn't provokation it was only embarrassing.

Apparently the interview I was supposed to have was gonna be more of a friendly chat, where I could ask questions about the department I applied to, the city the university, etc.
I say "supposed to have" because the professor's kid got sick and he had to take the little one to a doctor's appointment at the time our call was meant to take place. The official call for an interview day will be coming in mid January.

I'm currently making a list of things I need for my April overnight stay in Chicago and my eventual move in September. I'll prolly die on week one of classes, but no biggy!

A class of 2022 Facebook group was made (so I joined ofc) and I'm comparing myself to all these amazing ppl and thinking how the fuck did I get in lol.

I'm already in love w/ someone, too, so y'know that's good. I'll have a guy to be infatuated w/ for the next few months until I actually meet him and either get more infatuated or find someone else to set my sights on. B/c that's totally what school's abt, right?

I'm really excited to go. I was expecting to spend my birthday over there, too, but turns out Orientation isn't even until Sept., so I will be spending one last birthday in my beautiful state. I'm going to make a list of things I want to see before leaving, even tho I know we won't do any of it. My mom's not adventurous and she's not willing to let me take the bus anywhere even tho y'know I'm totally not going to be all on my own next year and will probably have to take some sort of public transportation. She says I don't know how to travel, which yes, is true, but if I'm never given the opportunity to do it alone, how will I ever learn?

I spent Christmas with my grandma, she lives in the black forest and it was really wonderful because my aunt and her children also came to my grandmas house and we went to church all together. From tomorrow on my parents and I will go to Rumania and visit my mums parents there and I will be able to see all my mums siblings. I really like Christmas because it is the only time when everybody in the family comes together.

I went to B&N today I got some new books because my sister got me a giftcard for christmas. I picked up Robin Hood and the Magicians by Grossman.
I'm super excited for season 3 of the Magicians to start in January and I'm hoping the books will be equally good/gay.

The only good thing about my current lack of work is my new free time spent on writing. I've been successfully updating Metastasis on Tapastic for a week now making me feel all types of accomplished.
I've also been thinking that it would be a cool idea to start back up a dream journal. I used to keep them quite regularly, but the more insomniac I got the more lucid dreams/night terrors I got so I stopped keeping track of them, but I think it would make a good New Year's resolution/challenge...

There are too many fucking people in my house, and it's really bothering me. It's fucking suffocating.

The NYE family get-together tmrrw is going to suck. I just don't really like being around my family. I'm sure they'll pop some questions abt college, which will lead to some criticism abt me b/c you know I can't just be happy abt this new adventure b/c no one in this family can ever be happy abt anything.

Every time my family asks why I decided to go so far or why I didn't look for a closer school (i.e. one here in California), I have to say some bullshit excuse that I want to explore, which is 1) not false, but 2) not the real huge reason. I hate my family. Like aside from my mom, everyone is aggravating in their own way. I'm just tolerating them at this point. I want to not have to go back home during vacation, so I'm going to have to figure something out there, but it's not my fault; it's theirs. For my whole life I have been letting them pass saying maybe something's wrong w/ me, but I'm not the one who goes out of my way to talk shit abt them behind their back to other ppl in the family, I don't tell them not to do something b/c I don't think it's possible, I don't wish the worst or think the worst of them (except maybe my uncle, but he is a special exception for being such a terrible human being and part of the problem above), and I surely don't bring up things that I know hurt them or scare them and use it to make fun of them.

Like, I'm an asshole, and I could be an asshole to my family, but I'm not b/c I figure you don't fucking choose who's in your family and so rather than making sure NO ONE gets along, why not be as neutral as possible so these things don't happen, and even that is a problem w/ these ppl. I can't stay quiet w/o that meaning I'm doing something wrong (aka them jumping to just one of numerous conclusions). And when I'm not quiet and actually try to bring up an issue in the family that I think should be fixed, I'm too young for that and I "need to shut up." I'm not treated like anyone actually cares abt me or like anything I say matters, so what is my actual purpose in this family other than being a scapegoat or a punching bag??? Nothing. I don't make a difference being there or not. I'm only there for my mom. I don't pay attention to anyone else, and the only other person I did pay attention to is gone from me, so I don't actually have a reason to be there either. Of course, they'll say I'm the one who didn't make an effort and it'll be pinned on me, but I won't live there anymore or see them, so I won't care anymore. Typing this out and reading it is actually pretty sad to me, b/c I really wished to not have this happen (I figured I'd just tolerate it some more), but I also don't wish to be an environment that's tense, hostile, judgmental, etc. It's not what I want to be around in general, and they will never be able to understand that w/o thinking I'm betraying the family in some way.

There's more, but this is maybe the worst year of my life (in terms of like first-world problems) and the only three things that made up for it were my internship w/ the Red Cross, writing in general, and the amazing scholarship I got this month, so overall it was a 5/10. My 2018 won't be that much better either until I move tbh, but I can hope.

Laptop fan’s been making loud noises.
Took it to a repair centre. Came back a few days later and technician said that there’s nothing wrong with the components but he couldn’t give a full check because it had a password.

I had specifically asked whether I should disable the password beforehand and the employee just asked for the password, which I gave.
Took the laptop back because they seemed incompetent and they said that they didn’t have the correct replacement parts anyway. Now the boot-up is 3 times slower than before.

You can back up your files and do a factory restore for the OS to speed things up. If you have 2 hard drives you only need to save files saved to the hard drive containing the OS.

A loud fan can mean the inside needs cleaning, or the bearing/motor is failing. I can't think of any software issues that could cause a fan noise, especially since you know what it sounds like under load already. It is also very rare for a software issue to cause a physical hardware problem.

If you have Windows 10 you can use PowerShell to uninstall apps like people, news,weather, phone,etc. You just have to Google how to uninstall win10 pre-installed apps using PowerShell.

My nap was super excellent and afterwards I made dinner and wrote for my short story.

When I was at pg 52 I was hoping real hard that the story wouldn't go over 70 pages and now I'm at pg 66 hoping it doesn't go over 80 pages and when I originally started this story I didn't think it'd go over 40 pages. When I left my house at 7:30am it was 47°F
After 8:00am the temperature warmed up to 53°F
Then at around 8:30am the temperature dropped to 37°F

It is a pretty prestigious school I guess. I go to Embry Riddle. All professors worked in the field, so we actually learn things that will tie directly into the job we want. And I do live in the dorms, but I didn't include that cost. With tuition, housing, meals, and other fees, it's about 22k per semester.

If I actually cared about acedemics in my childhood I'd probably be able to get into MIT, due to scholarships. But I barely graduated high school, with less than a 3.0 gpa. So grants, working, and loans pay for my bills and school.

I'm going to csu for a bachelor's in electrical engineering with a lasers and optics concentration and applied physics. Then for a master's in EE for computer architecture at csu. Then hopefully a PhD in physics at cu boulder for my quantum computing ideas, which they're ranked #1 in the field of physics I want to get into.

I think csu is a better undergrad school in Colorado, while I think cu boulder is the best grad school here.

I experienced snow for the first time yesterday. Wow, I went almost 19 years without knowing what snow was like. That's crazy.
It was pretty fun, I guess. Freezing cold, I can't stand the cold, but still fun. My boyfriend got me to make a snow angel and then we had a snowball fight. We walked around a lot and kicked snow around. We're adults, I promise. Also went on a small hike and got an amazing view of the town and stargazed a bit. All in all, it was a good night.

Bullying is a lot harsher than what they/we did. They didn't constantly degrade them. Water kept degrading himself though. People just got annoyed and fed up, when water and maimai were trying to provoke people. I think G.P. posted a lot more on random so I don't know too much, except that they harassed the gay/trans community. Are they the same person trying to tell the dollars to change, cause we don't do anything to help others as well?

Cyber bullying is a lot more severe, as most times they isolate the person in real life. They keep telling rumors online, scaring them, and constantly degrading them. Bullying cam be considered harassment too.

I didn't see any of the cases here as cyber bullying as no one harassed them, just annoyed and told them off. I've been bullied in real life before and it messes with your day, but people here didn't really make an effort to try and bully. They just trolled back it seemed.
