I was a little reluctant to it at the beginning since it all looked so nice and cute and Sebastian was made to seem so perfect.
But it definitely did grow on me, mainly during the (awesome) circus arc. What I like about it is how beneath all the surface glamor, not even one single character is clean, so to say, and of course Sebastian and Ciel's dynamic is pretty interesting. Fave character would be between these two, so I'll say Ciel (sorry mister perfect).

I'm a huge fan of Kuroshitsuji!!! Though I prefer the manga ^^. I love the current arc!! Zombies <3 (that's all I'm going to say about the arc) The art is fantastic and I just love it XD

Really, this is one of my favourites, and I buy the manga as soon as it comes out! (they're up to 6 here in Canada, anyway). I am totally in love with Sebastian haha, though I love the new plot twist with Elizabeth! Not gonna say more, for those who haven't got that far: I've been reading the chapters as they come out in Japan and are posted online somewhere xD I also have always loved Meirin, she's just so cool. The premise is very simple, it's about a young aristocratic boy who, because of a tragic event in his childhood, ended up making a contract with a demon. This implies that the demon must do everything his master asks of him and then receive his soul at the end of his life.
It doesn't follow much of a main plot, at least not so far. The story's mainly made out of separate arcs that follow the two as they solve all kinds of problems related to underground crime in England, and bit by bit exposes the man character's past and motivation. Oh, and the manga and anime go their separate ways at one point.

The way I view it, the manga became too popular too fast, so the anime overtook the manga, so the studiot responsible for making Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji had to make a storyline up of their own. To be honest, I feel the anime's ending did satisfy fans of the pairing CielXSebastian because then they'd...well, I won't spoil it for those who have yet to watch it in full, but for me, it was a happy ending.
As for the manga, I've yet to read it (sadly), due to an ever-growing list of manga to read and anime to watch, but the idea of a circus arc is going to make me go for it.

And the previous one was zombies on the Titanic. Sometimes I really can't tell what Kuroshitsuji is doing. But it still ended in some pretty interesting developments.
But almost every arc, except maybe the Circus Arc, is an homage to some famous story. Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes, Titanic I guess. It's an interesting approach, doesn't always have the best results though.

Would I be breaking people's bubbles by bringing up the fact that Sebastian is actually a heartless demon? And that he uses his charm and guile to manipulate people and get his way with them. And that he actually hangs out around humans because they're a food source and also, like any good demon, he feeds off of seeing them struggle and suffer.
Sebastian is basically, as far as I can see, pitch black to the core. But he's a tempter and a seducer, which is what makes him so effective...in universe and out of it.
He's also not in the slightest a positive influence to Ciel. Despite being the closest person to him and the one Ciel relies on the most, he has no actual feelings for him and will never push him in any sort of good direction. How twisted the relationship is is what makes it interesting, but it's not something you'd want to have.
Well, what I'm trying to say is that I feel like not too many people look past how hot he looks in a suit to take into account his actual nature before jumping on the fangirl bandwagon.
Feel free to ignore my ramblings and just go on about your day.

Madame Red needs more love! I cant believe only 2 people mentioned her in the entire thread
The complexity of her character is so intense even though she was only in a few volumes
1. she starts off a beautiful maiden who is self conscious but gains confidence through the appreciation from a gentleman who steals her heart~
2. the love of her life marries her beloved sister!! she is heartbroken but instead of hating them she wishes them happiness
3. when she finally finds another man who can love her and appreciate her, he dies :(
4. then ciel's parents die in that fire, taking away her beloved sister and the love of her life
5 then there's also the infertility thing
Her life is so tragic, it's like all her love and heartbreak drove her over the edge
Plus, this woman gets to grab Sebastian's butt!!! :D

I started watching it and i stopped after the first 2 episodes...Okay i was a real big idiot, i hated myself because of this, after i realized that how f*cking awesome and epic this anime is!!!
IUt was a rainy day....okay sunny...or maybe both...i don't remember, whatever.
It was a boring da,y when i was just thinking about watching an anime...but i already watched all what i wanted, and there as only one in the list. That was Kuroshitsuji, that was the only anime what i didn't finish, and so there were no more anime in the list, what i could watch so in the end i was like: "Okay, i think it's better than nothing, let's watch some episodes"
After a few other episodes i just realize,d that how aersome this anime is, and that i was a real idiot, because i stopped watching it. So i just finish all the 2 seasons in 4 days (maybe?)

Kuroshitsuji is my ALL TIME FAVORITE MANGA AND ANIME. The story line is suspensful and dark (which is how I like it), plus, the characters are dynamic and life-like. I really hope that the producers of the anime make another season, although I sometimes doubt they will.

I really don't understand Kuroshitsuji. Sometimes I think I understand Kuroshitsuji, but then a page like this happens and I realize I really don't.
I caught up to the last 10 chapters or so, and even though I enjoyed the really intense cricket, I wish more happened when the mystery was uncovered. I like this manga best when it moves away from its usual lightheartedness and tells a serious story, so I'd like to see more of that.
But it's so weird sometimes, I can't tell what kind of story it wants to be. I enjoy it for the most part, but the way the serious and not serious bits mix sometimes really throws me off. I wonder if maybe that's not actually the point though hmm

My heart was broken into tiny tiny pieces by the latest chapter. I've followed this series since 2008 (back when the anime was first released) and I've loved Agni and Prince Sohma ever since... It was really painful to read and I cried through the whole thing, haha. Black Butler is one of my favorite manga. The story telling is phenomenal, and has this certain air of mystery and dark beauty that pulls you into the world, and doesn't let go.
The characters are all extremely well developed, and never feel flat, or simple. They all have their own secrets and motivations that make them to be who they are. Even when they commit terrible, unforgivable acts, you understand why they do it. I, for one, do not have a favorite character. I simply don't know who to pick! They are all so likable in different ways, and each have a time in which they demonstrate who they are, and in that moment, they become my favorite.
The relationship between Ciel and Sebastian, master and servant, while in a way simple, is very complex, and is one of the highlights of the story. It is simply amazing to see how it grows, and how the characters grow with it.
The story itself is masterful. It has a quality that is often absent in fiction. It is real. The line between hero and villain, good and evil, is not clear in most of times. We make mistakes, and we do terrible things to accomplish our goals. Human beings are cruel, but that doesn't stop us from living, and loving, and feeling. Some moments in the story implement that, and are done so well, I can feel the raw emotion emitted from the pages, and it is beautiful.
Don't even get me started on the art! It mirrors the story splendidly, and it is beautiful(I am aware of using this word often, but what other word is there to describe Black Butler?). It keeps improving, and at the moment is simply astounding to look at.
Finally, I simply have to thank Yana Toboso for writing the masterpiece that is Black Butler. Yana Sensei really is an amazing story teller, and I cannot wait to see how she will tie this story together when it comes to an end, I am sure not to be disappointed.
The most recent chapter certainly was intense. I was on the edge of my seat while reading it, and have to admit I was not prepared for the outcome. What do you have to say about chapter 127? Any thoughts? Theories? Death threats? I'd be glad to hear them!
