I've had a lot more spare time on my hands recently so I've decided to finally get back to trying to create the drrrchat clone that myself from 8 years ago couldn't. Now I'm here to show it off, get suggestions, and possibly pick up a team member who can create custom avatars for it.

The old drrr-like-chat repository is extremely outdated, and despite my attempts, I could not resurrect the code to work perfectly, so instead of trying to start from where I left off, I decided to start from scratch with my own custom code. So far, things are just bare bones, but I've also only been working on it over my few days off this week. I'll be dropping screenshots of what I have so far with explanations of features.

Like I said, I'm seeking suggestions for features. I am willing to add silly shit as well, just not too silly. I am not an amazing graphic designer so please don't destroy me.

Note: There is currently no name for the project. I will be taking suggestions for that as well. I will try to update the thread when I make significant progress.

This is the registration page where users can create accounts. The email is required as it sends a verification code to make sure the email is in use periodically. Registered accounts cannot have the same name, or emails, and gives users a unique ID, access to the login page with exclusive icon selection, a verification status, as well as additional customization features I will be adding in the future.

This is the login page for registered users. It's simple, you use your credentials to login to your dedicated account, and you have access to more icons than the guest login. There will be many more, but I've added a select few to showcase the feature.

This is the (VERY WIP) lounge. The lounge will display all rooms, as well as having the tools needed to create rooms. The room creation kit currently includes the essentials: Name, description, password, room limit, and a selection of backgrounds to choose from for your room.

The website randomly decided that I can no longer reply with images, so I will try again in the morning.

Update for today: Rooms. Hosts can ban on demand with options for time-limited bans or permanent, access to room settings, and access to the ban list and ability to unban users.

Going to take a break for a few days, but I'm currently working on updating the lounge with the ability to change your avatar and name in the lounge, adding nicknames, having a list of all active users (in lounge and chatting,) a "friend" system, as well as "knocking" where you can ask the host for access to locked rooms whilst in the lounge.

Next, I will be installing room invitations, as well as invite-only rooms. Then, I will be working on a friend system as well as private messaging.
