So, I recently had a dream where a group of terrorists came into our house and attacked us at night. I'm normally really confident about my ability to fight and defend myself, but I know there are some places and numbers that I just can't fight in or against. That dream played on that acknowledgement hardcore. I couldn't protect my mom or dogs. I hid in my messy room waiting for the right time with a feeling of helplessness, unable to choose exactly what was the best thing to do in the amount of time I had. I took out the first two guys when they came in my room, but I wasn't strong enough to hide the bodies or prepare for fighting the others.

I suddenly understood that I can't fight at that degree without a gun. I've always been insistent that I don't need weapons, but I needed /something/. A few cracks in my ego later, my dream manifested a couple weapons on the guys, and I was off to fighting with one of the guys that was left while trying to get a knife off him. The feeling of helplessness and regret were harsh. The dream was pretty lucid by then; I chose to end it before the fight finished.

I know it sounds stupid, but I think that dream has been affecting me the last few days. My decisiveness is down tenfold. I've never second-guessed myself as much as I have the past few days. It's over the stupidest shit, too. It sucks especially since I'm at a great turning point right now with all these cool ideas and no real chance to apply the because I don't have enough confidence in my choices. 'til now, I've always been able to look at the good and bad and make a clear choice on anything important. This is a really weird feeling.

The position of your receiver relative to the transmitter is not directly related to the movement of matter in-between them. The former has a significant impact, while the latter has almost none. The position of the laptop would have a larger impact because the receiver in the laptop can be blocked by walls, the laptop itself, reflective material, etc.

In the future, when I ask a question, it is a question. I don't ask, "Why is this true?" for the purpose of implying "This is not true" unless I specifically say so.

So yeah, I'm in college; Carpentry. And i seem to stumble up a roof because that was our project. Perfecting cords and rafter lengths. Then we had to walk on the cords on our bare feet.
At first, it seemed scary a,f. But i kinda got used to it. I suddenly used that skill just to measure the rafters. After a few minutes on the middle of the roof. hanging there with the hard dirty ground you could fall off on. I kinda seemed pretty bad ass after getting down the roof. xD

GUYS I FINALLY GOT MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE :'D

But it turns out that my driving certification expired. I registered for my permit for a few bucks. I was gonna wait to take the actual test since it's been 3 years since I passed the test before (and a lot of the laws here in NJ have changed since), but the testing is free, so I figured I'd try it.

I got a ton wrong o_o And the official testing is really weird. They only show you one question at a time, and you can't go back, and it's on some obnoxious touchscreen where you have no privacy, and it tells you every question you get wrong immediately after you answer it to break you down question by question and just.... gross.

I have to wait a week before I can retake it tho :o

My mom's friend came down from Vermont to help clean and drove me to my birth town so I could get it, and we had to take the trip twice because it turned out you needed proof of your address (why the fuck? it's just a birth record, and the county site didn't say it had any unique rules on their site). I just made potato chips in the microwave, and they're FUCKING FABULOUS. I was so skeptical about this recipe, but it's soooo goood. Just slice up a potato, spread the slices on a paper plate, rub them lightly with olive oil, grate some salt on 'em, and then put 'em in the microwave for about 5:30. They come out perfect. You just have to get them off the plate as soon as they come out or else they'll stick.

Definitely tossing this one on the food board once I've made enough for a picture.

And keep them in until the majority of it is browned. If you take it out too early, they're just soggy. There's a very small period of time you have between browning and burnt that you have to pull them out during.

I haven't been getting much sleep either. I haven't even slept since yesterday because I was doing math until 8:30am. Then I had a lecture an hour after that. I think I should have skipped it, because it was pretty worthless compared to what sleep could have done for me. And, of course, no food because University. :-)

The best advice I can offer you is that what you are doing is difficult and you should be proud of yourself, as impossible as that likely is. It may seem like the work isn't difficult, but the amount of work you have is the real difficulty. Trust me, even in University the content is pretty easy. When you have 6 classes with an assignment once a week, however, it's not easy at all. It's difficult. High school wasn't, this really is.

Space your time. Don't spend too much time on one thing if you aren't making progress. In general, it's a good idea not to spend 6 hours in a row doing one assignment, but to spend 1 hour on each assignment.

It's like a good reality check moment that'll teach me life lessons I guess so Im glad for what Im going through.

Mad Men is well acted and is an interesting show, but I've gotta say that the Protagonist is a stale piece of shit whose affairs they only use to throw in sex scenes.

I got in trouble during P.E. for "not having my lock on my locker (basket, it's a fucking basket that can't even hold my valuable things!)" and guess what it was on the locker/basket/whatever. I set up my combination and lock it onto the locker and after that I set up my combination again so that when I come back from running, I have a quick exit out of the locker room and to my Spanish class on the third floor of the second building. So apparently, the P.E. teachers check by pulling on the damn lock and well, it counted as not being on the locker. I'm pretty mad about that. So mad in fact. This is the stupidest thing I have had to call home for so far. I hope it doesn't get any stupider.

While we were doing our activity at the end of the day,(dodgeball, the freshman lost very badly. A lot of us got hit in the face. I didn't play though, I just don't do sports)this kid comes up to me (freshman, also, really funny, nice in fact) and says, "Everyone's mad at you." So I'm like, "Why?" That's the stupidest thing someone's ever been mad at me for. Sure, we wear uniform everyday, but I got a free dress pass and decided to use it for this specific day. So sorry!

My mom is now trying to say that depression is caused by demonic possession rather than anything psychological. That's a hell of a fucking scapegoat. She's using it as an excuse to not get close to the neighbor (who she doesn't like because her boyfriend likes the new chick) and to brush off previous years of depression as well as any issue she has in her day to day life.

The worst part is that this is clear as day how she's making it up, and her boyfriend can tell too, but she's gotten to the point where she's repeated it so much today that she's convinced herself of it. Oh, goodie. This is just so much fun. I wonder how long this bad joke will get dragged on for. Hopefully not until the neighbor moves out :\

My mom just called right now. It's 7 and she's still not home which is rare, but occasionally happens. Her tire popped again. This is the fifth time this year and I don't think anyone at the car company is going to keep giving her bad tires, because they all really like her there. My uncle is the one who picked up the phone, she's still at work and I guess getting the tire replaced, but seriously five times in the year and it always happens on her way home.
When my uncle hung up, he went and told my grandma what had happened and he said in spanish, "Don't you think that's a little strange that that's happened again? What if someone at her work is doing it?" I don't know why anyone would even think of doing that to her. I admit that people do not like her at her work, because she is the only Mexican among a bunch of catty black women, but I don't think they would hate her so much, especially when she does all the work and they always ask her for help. Sure, they get mad that people come in to see her for help and not them, but obviously if she's the only one actually doing something who are they going to go to. I don't know if anyone else at her job would hate her, but I wish I hadn't even heard my uncle make that comment, because now I am freaking paranoid and worried and even more stressed out than before, plus I really want to cry, but i'm afraid they'll hear me. :(

I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show live.

It was fucking amazing I dont think I can go back to watching the movie again (at least while not yelling the phrases).

What made it even greater though was how the actors would incorporate pop culture into the play (stuff like talking about how they can legally marry now, jokes about Cards Against Humanity, etc) and ughhh that was only the second time in my life I saw a play actually but it was fucking amazing okay.

On a scale of rare to well done, I'm carbon. As an assignment, we're supposed to make a mouse trap car. I made mine, and everything was perfect. No one is awake, nor was when the following event happened, including animals. There was no wind, either. No vibrations beyond the very, very small amount produced by the earth.

The car was just sitting there when it suddenly decided that the front two wheels along with the trap itself would fall off, despite not coming off when I was trying really hard to force them off before to check if it was strong enough. So, I tried to fix it, and the more I tried to fix it, the worse it became. Now I have this thing that's covered in tape and has one wheel that barely moves, when before, I had a nice, distance-oriented build that worked exactly as I wanted. So what the heck, physics? Why do you decide to break only for me?

Imo, the series has been pretty dark the whole time. The writer seems to be just forcing the point by inflating the number of dead people and brutal assaults. Gon has also grown up a lot, which forces the readers and viewers to grow up with him (i.e., he's not playing pranks on his opponents like he did in the Heaven's Arena anymore). It's trying a little too hard.

I think it's a really cheap way to add depth, but the series is still fun to watch. I just wish the chimera arc wasn't like 60% of it. It had such great pacing up until now.

Last arc wasn't as good as I was hoping. The pacing was thrown off like the last one, and it in general was written poorly. Too bad the burst of inspiration for the last part of the ant arc didn't carry on through the next one, but w/e.

It was still a fun watch. I'll probably hit the movies later. I know fanboys diss them a lot just to give the canon more credibility, but I'll still give it a try.

Watched the two HxH movies.




















Phantom Rouge just played like a long episode. Nothing defined it as a movie except its length and the addition of a fake-heroine-who-doesn't-last-long. Not sure if there's a proper trope name for that, but they've done it in a lot of other anime movies too: introduce an interesting new female character who's weak but related to whatever the current big event is, then have her sacrifice herself to finish it up. Pretty annoying. It was also stupid that they couldn't beat anyone on their own, but at least there was no "shounen protagonist learns the powers of friendship to save the day!" finale.

The Last Mission was a lot better. It played more like a movie. There was better lighting and cinematography than the series (though obviously at the expense of the animation budget), it was broken up the way a movie should be, and they ditched the shitty ass narrator. The style of the graphics was a bit different than the series and previous movie, but I think they're much prettier to look at in some scenes. I also really like that they were fighting opponents that were actually in their league instead of having to disappear for months to train before they could land a scratch or having to rely on others.
