Well, whats your family like, first of all? Do you think they'd accept it? Also, imo, though this is hardly helpful or relevant, I think 'coming out' is terrible. I mean, you wouldn't have to 'come out' as 'straight' so why for anything else? This being said, perhaps if your family wouldn't appreciate it, don't do it at all?

Anonymous got a point.
And what's even worse is, you want to "come out" as bisexual...

It's like you're asking for trouble.

I feel that "coming out" should only be done if you're strictly gay or lesbian and your family is in the "need to know" category (maybe cuz they keep trying to rope you in with this nice boy/girl of your opposite sex). I would understand you telling your friends, but...

80% sure this is a duplicate.

Really depends how old you are.
Are you that middle/high schooler going through that "I like to fuck around" stage?

If you're older than that, then I think Bi isn't as bad as Gay/Lesbian, since there is that chance you're "not gay". So I mean. What's the point of telling them you're straight, but you could also not be straight?

>>4 makes a point.

Well if they suddenly started going out with somebody of their own gender I don't think it would exactly go unnoticed >>4>>6. So the idea of not telling anyone because 'well you're kind of straight too', doesn't really work.

Other than that, we have a coming out thread with a few people's stories, so maybe that'll help out.

Don't feel pressured into coming out. Do it if you think it's right. You could come out casually as if it's not big deal. Or you could do the whole "sit down and talk". It also depends how old you are. It's harder for parents to believe their kids when they are younger because they think it's "just a phase". Either way, good luck.

Thanks piccolodian you made me feel much better and I think your right I'll wait till I'm a little older to tell them.

Oh wow...I had to tell my parents. Well,it was more like they were being nosey and went through my stuff and gradually found out...but when they asked me if i was I said yes I Bi,and just like piccolidian said, they automatically assumed it was just a phase.Im thirteen,by the way. So,I kinda know what you're going through. What I tried to do before was to "show" them that I was Bi,by the way I acted around other girls. But all they dad is ask why i was acting "weird". It made me really upset and I just decided that if my parents can't believe that this is how I am (and that I'm not going to change for them to be happy with them) how i am, then I'm just not going to tell them anything anymore...I just hope this isnt how your parent are going to react. (Im also Christian,so it's kinda wierd with my church and all 0_o) I'll pray for youu though:) Good luck
