Hello fellow Dollars, today I present
Mobile Missions!(Read the whole thread before commenting, or at least read the summary at the bottom)Just as a disclaimer:
This thread may be quite similar to a lot of other missions threads but I decided to make it anyway. In my time here, I have noticed that the most successful missions are those that require the least effort, because let’s face it, we’re all
just a tad lazy.
However, in recent years, the mobile phone has developed to a point where we can utilise it to
complete missions without moving an inch!
Basically the purpose of this thread is to inform you of some missions to do that don’t require too much effort and can be easily done. This thread is also for you guys to discuss any other ways that you’ve discovered that allow people to get involved and help other people.
I also created a
Discord server so we can communicate and discuss Mobile Missions as a whole more easily.
With that said, here are some the best mobile missions I could find!
Donate a PhotoThis mission is one of the most simple to do, in short, you take a photo…
and you donate it. Sounds simple? That’s because it’s just that easy!
In Donate a Photo, you basically just take 1 picture a day of anything and you donate it, every time you do so, Johnson and Johnson will donate $1 to charity, so we could all realistically be making $365 a year for charity without actually doing anything that we don’t already do.
These pictures aren’t used for
anything other than to promote Donate A Photo, and ultimately, even if you donate a selfie, you can rest assured
it isn’t going to be painted on billboards the next day (you can ask for your pictures to be private if this isn’t secure enough for you).
Android Download HereiOS Download HereGive 2 CharityWell this app requires just a
tiny bit of personal information but to be honest..not much.
In Give2Charity, you download the app, answer a few demographic questions and
nothing else.Basically the way it makes money is that, after you enter you demographic info, it collects location data from your phone, you never even have to open it, it just runs in the background. You can gain points by having your phone on you outside, or earn bonus points by taking surveys and inviting friends. Trade these points in for money and then
donate the money! Now I know you might be wondering why it needs your location info and how safe it is, so here’s the breakdown.
It knows your general information (things like gender, age etc) so, then it ‘maps’ where the majority of people in the same demographic as you go. They then sell this information to third party buyers interested in this kind of demographic analysis.
It’s pretty neat, but if you don’t want your location data shared, there are many other apps and things in this thread.
Android Download HereiOS Download HereCharity MilesI’m sure some of you have heard of this app before, it’s quite popular.
It does require a decent bit of
physical activity though…
In this app you select the charity you want to sponsor and either walk, run or bike, and for each mile that you do so, you raise money.
It’s very easy, but requires that you have mobile data so you can leave your location services on outside, this way they can tell how many miles you really did.
It’s a fun and easy way to be making money for just going for a walk or doing a run and I recommend that you all use it if you can!
(make sure you have mobile data, and a lot of it)
Android Download HereiOS Download HereGoodSamNow, this is one of my favourites. But is is
quite a lot more serious.
For the few of you that remembered my failed Geolocation idea from a while back, this may appeal to you especially.
GoodSam is effectively a community helpline.
There are two roles in GoodSam:
ResponderAlerterThe way it works is if you see someone that requires immediate medical assistance, then you would send out an alert and specify which kind of assistance is needed. The good people at GoodSAM would then call the
emergency services for you and
give your location to them. In addition, they would alert the 3 nearest
Responders.See the genius?
When you sign up, you can select what sort of assistance you can provide. Unless you wish to be an Alerter, in which case you simply download the app and get started.
It’s effectively a way of getting help to people faster, because you never know if there’s a responder not too far away that’s willing to help.
Now before you download this app, you need to understand what it is. If you wish to be a responder, there are actual regulations and confirmations, because this app is quite literally
life and death. If you wish to be an alerter (most of us minors) then sending out a false alert
is equivalent to prank calling the police so don’t do it.
I also won’t be held responsible for any of you prank callers.
