A few months back the idea for creating a Dollars wristband died out, and i was wondering if anyone had made any progress, or was interested in bringing it back. Preferably only comments from planning people to take action in order to avoid the overload of the last thread if so.

If anyone was involved in the process, could you clarify what the conclusion was? I'm not going to lie, I'm not reading that mess myself :V

why dont we all just have an item with the dollars logo on it. Some item that you just happen to carry around a lot the is in plane sight to see (wrist bands to me sounds like some money scheme) >_<"

That seems like a good idea, but how do we make sure that people that are already joined can have access to them? I mean, how would we know that people with the wristbands are actually Dollars and not just random people who decided to get for whatever reason? That seems like a major problem we might run into.

They look sold out right now but if there's enough people on the waiting list it'll give em a reason to make more.

I think we should have our own wristbands. That way we can distinguish the members from here to the people who wear normal dollars wristbands. But of course, we can still talk to the others with the normal dollars wristbands.

Though it's only my opinion.

It's a great idea that we have a Dollars wristbands but I guess it would really be better if we have our own to determine who is a member here or just a fan of Durarara but aren't even a member or just bought it out of fun or like of it. That's just my idea though.

How about a plain black one with the logo right in the middle. The logo goes on the outside of the wrist and might look like a watch face. On the inside could be a quote of some sort. Bothe the logo and quote would be in white.

This should definitely happen. I think it would be awesome to be able to identify each other offline. Maybe somewhere you can get your BBS name engraved on it too. Just an idea.

My God people, nothing will get done if you don't just do it yourselves. The designs will be different and unique by the person who made them, who cares? We'll still be "invisible", but "repping" our group at the same time. Just go out and make your own shit.

If you happen to succeed to make the wristband...how you're going to distribute? Or sell?

I remember having read that a few days ago while skimming topics and made a wristband; one of the ideas was to use Duct Tape, which works, but marking the symbol on there is no easy task. I used nail polish, and even then, I had to clear coat to make sure bits didn't come off. Regardless, the process is a bit time consuming, so if I were to make more of these, I would have to have a lot of time and a much steadier hand.

there are websites which make silicone wristbands, it would be nice if someone organised ones like that since many people wear them and they aren't too expensive.

I looked into the link provided by >>8, and the site is not very user friendly. Silicone wristband purchase is more trouble than it's worth. I would be willing to make wristbands from black Duct Tape and nail polish. Material cost comes out to $8.60 and can create 80 wristbands. This also provides envelopes for distribution.

One wristband takes 30 minutes for me to make, and most of that time is spent on design. The design I have in mind is to put the logo on the front and the password on the back, both being on the outside of the wristband, and on the inside is "The world is not as bad as you think..."

I looked into distribution via Amazon and self shipping. I like the idea of self shipping because it won't cost anyone else for the actual purchase of the wristband. What I was thinking was that, depending on regional demand, I could have someone from another country mail me a stamp, and I would mail them back wristbands. That person then could be the point person in their country for wristband distribution. Therealso, I can be the point person for the US since stamps here aren't as expensive as international stamps, which are $22 for 10 as opposed to the 20 for $10 I get state-side. I can fit at most 10 wristbands to an envelope.

Hmm i would suggest we all agree on a design, then just find a site, or something that can make them at an affordable price, then the people that want one, can just buy it if they can.

I have an order form in front of me, but don't know what sizes or how many to get. My idea for the text is: front:"The Dollars"
back: "We will always be here" (last think Masaomi types in the anime, and I think it's dollarsy quote. They end up about 1.19 each but I don't know how we could distribute.

The issue is not cost or getting them made (there are plenty of places, and they are cheap.) The issue is having a way for us to sell them to all members without having to have a member resell. Otherwise we will all just be ordering one at a time. We could have the people who are organizing a dollars day in their area buy them and then get them to the people who attend.

I believe the best way would be to agree on a design and site then each buy induvidually. No need for bulk buying seeing as they are all dirt cheap anyway.

I agree whole heartily--but what if we all just got plain black wristbands and then write on them ourselves? And as for knowing who is an actually Dollars member, we could have something written on the inside as well. That way, only we would know what's on the inside, as its not normally visible.

I think it's an awesome idea to have wristbands but the problem is that since Dollars is a global group, it'll be really hard to ensure that every person is able to get one. Unless for if we can come up with an efficient way of distribution....

Ebay! Whoever creates them could put them up on ebay then put the link to the page here! Of course...that person would have to get a lot of wristbands and I don't know where he could get those wristbands, or if the design is cool, or if someone would be willing to do all that...but yeah, this would be really cool :)

I actually went through a business procedure whereby I can custom order 50+ badges to whatever design I want (metal badges) and have them lacquered to whatever colour I want. They cost £2.50 each and it's possible to buy them and then sell on if enough people were interested and organised enough.
