Guessing this is the right place to put this.
If you have a story you know of that shows the human side of inhuman actions stories like a higher call (which everyone needs to read). I don't want ideology attached to any stories but instead to preserve heroic actions of people that tried to do something compassionate I war. If we don't keep telling their stories then they will die, as long as they actions are remembered they shall be immortal.

Ok i don't really know any 100% true stories but there's the boy in the striped pajamas and number the stars which were two fictional plots set in nonfictional WW2. You could try those?
