Hey everybody out there. I'm writing my own book and I wanted to see if any likes the premise of the story.

Alistair Ace is a normal young adult who likes sports and video games, except for being the head enforcer for a local gang. Now that a war has been waged on his home turf, he has to find where he belongs, at the lowest level, or as the head boss. With the arrival of the FBI complicating things along the way, he has to make the hard choice, be loyal to the people who control his daily life, or betray them.

Please let me know what you think. I don't have a title right now, but please don't give suggestions for one.I have a couple I'm working on.

>>1 I'm against the last name Ace. Nobody has a last name like that unless they legally changed it. Also, (in American culture) it's kind of an overused name.

I agree, Ace is a little... obvious I guess. And Alistair is a very strange name as well, make sure you have the time period/other strange names to balance it out. If your main character is like Celestia Kingsley and everyone else is Sally Taylor, it seems more weird than cool and unique, and some will criticize you for making a generic main character before even reading the book.

Also, make him a little different than "your average kid." The whole double-life thing is WAY overused nowadays. Make him the shy one. Make him a champion in like a poetry competition. Give his life some flavor besides double-sided. Don't make him perfectly average--it doesn't matter if he's the star athlete, #1 in the class, or that shy kid who's really good at painting, your story will gain a whole new depth if you give him a life that actually makes him consider hanging up his title and turning his gang in to the FBI.
