1 Name: cody : 2013-09-24 23:32 ID:lU24ESjo [Del]

2 Name: Ao : 2013-09-26 21:29 ID:Z23HmC7u [Del]

Worst book ever? I somehow managed the first paragraph of twilight without clawing my eyes out and squeezing the ooze out into a pile of my own vomit, if that counts. Best one, I would say my own, but then again I am biased on that one xD

3 Name: cody : 2013-09-26 21:48 ID:lU24ESjo [Del]

what's your book about? I might like to read it put it on fanfic or something. and ya twilight was pretty horrendous at least the first one the rest got better. I cant even watch the first one without laphing

4 Name: cody : 2013-09-26 21:48 ID:lU24ESjo [Del]

movie wise im sure the book is alittle better

5 Name: Ao : 2013-09-26 22:14 ID:Z23HmC7u [Del]

My book I consider an original, I didn't conciously base it on anybody elses'ideas. It should be getting published as a novella sometime this upcoming january. You can mail order it (when it comes out) from barnes and noble website or amazon. I will also make a digital copy. The printed book will probably be under 20, and the ebook around 2 USD. I would like to tell you the storyline, but i'd like to guard the idea, at least until its copyrighted. Look around for Sunshine 60, I'm glad you're interested and thanks for asking :D

And I didn't bother with any of the twilight series after that paragraph, movies or books.

7 Name: Clementine : 2013-09-29 11:56 ID:ELMzfiBw [Del]

I've read a lot of great books including:
1) The Five People You Meet in Heaven (currently reading)
2) The Night Circus
3) The Battle of the Sun
4) A Virgin Heart (1920's)
5) Catcher in the Rye (which a lot of people didn't like for some reason, I loved it).
6) The Little Prince

You should check out those books, even though you might have a hard time finding "A Virgin Heart", I happened upon it in an old library. I have not read any books I didn't like so far.

One of my favorites is Misery, by Stephen King. Found a hard cover of it at a book store recently, so I got the chance to re-read it. Cant place an absolute "best" off the top of my head though.

Not sure about worst either, I usually look into most books I read beforehand, so I dont encounter many bad ones. However, most books read in English class become kinda boring for me.
Between people slowly reading out loud, and the teacher stopping every 5 minutes, I lose interest and end up just finishing it at home.

I'll say the typical one, Harry Potter. The sixth book, Half-Blood Prince. The worst book gotta be The Casual Vacancy, also from JK Rowling. I mean, what the heck is with that book? At the beginning someone dies from falling from a great height or something then the rest is about everyone who used to be friends of the dead person talking about him...

I can't decide what's the best I have ever read, but I'll say the worst was The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Had to read it in AP English and it was terrible!

22 Name: Ita : 2013-11-23 20:05 ID:ZCW+19bj [Del]

I read a book called The Giver which was really good. The second book in the series wasn't THAT good, but I loved the third and fourth one.

25 Name: Juvia : 2013-12-01 00:24 ID:4y9+6thm [Del]

Some of the best books I've ever read are :
the Harry Potter series
The Book Thief
The Catcher In The Rye
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children
The Great Gatsby
I recommend all of those really strongly~

As for the worst, I can't really think of any... which is a good thing I guess. I wasn't crazy about the last book in The Hunger Games though. It kind of dragged on for me...

26 Name: Anonymoose : 2013-12-06 12:32 ID:jTh6stBZ [Del]

Best would be Catch-22 without a doubt. Joseph Heller was a master at written comedy, which I find harder to make than spoken comedy. His use of constant repetition of phrases through multiple perspectives is genius, it creates twists and turns in the context of the story without changing the plot at all. And for as funny it is it's just as serious, Yossarian's constant existential mindset clashing against the dozens of characters whom all have their own strong comedic perspectives creates some of the best character development I'm ever read.

My personal favourites are the Freakonomics series and the books made by Cracked.com staff. They are great read. What I like about the Cracked books is that they are pretty short and casual.
