The Art of War is one of the most well known literary works in the world. Written by Chinese military genius Sun Tzu about 2,000 years ago, The Art of War outlined the basics of warfare, weaknesses and strengths of leaders, the implementation of spies and deception, and evaluation of terrain and recources.

The Art of War has been used by great military strategists throughout history. Many corporations are starting to use it as inspiration to help them achieve victory in competetive situations of all kinds. I have also personally used it to keep me motivated, and prepared for several situations over the past few weeks.

So seeing how popular this book is among military minds, and scholars, I would guess that atleast a few people here would have read it, or atleast heard of it. So tell me, what do you, my fellow dollars, think of this work?

>>3 It's also what ignorant people dismiss because it's complicated.

The art of war is interesting - It less of a book and more of a compiled list of proverbs and metaphors/examples that probably shouldn't be taken literally so much as contemplated and then applied conceptually.

The Art of War is definitely a well written book, and can very easily be applied to management positions of any sort - And if you can manage to scale it down, it is entirely possible to apply it to yourself.

I'd recommend Miyamoto Mushashi's Go Rin No Sho/Book of the Five Rings if you're looking for something more personal to apply on a smaller scale/self improvement however.

Both of them are marvelous books.

Good job, Maru-Kai.

I have a copy of Sun Tzu's art of war and I thinkSun Tzu was a brilliant stratigist. If you ever want to win a war or battle you have to read this book or you will not win, it's a beautiful book.
