The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (14)

One of my favorite series is by Douglas Adams. The series is very goofy, but in the end it makes you think about what may be out there in the universe. One of the things I like about the series is that it takes out the "traditional way" of doing a science fiction created by works such as Star Wars or Star Trek. It gives you a better understanding on the unexpected. Perhaps logic is not much of a concept in the novels, but you won't care about that as you read them.
The series is unlike anything I have ever read or what you will ever read.
The series:
1. the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
2. the restaurant at the end of the universe
3. life the universe and everything
4. so long and thanks for all the fish

There is a fifth book written by another author, but I haven't read it yet or expect it to be any good.

I believe the newest installment was written by Eoin Colfer.
And while I have trust in Colfer's creativity,(*coff coff* Arteis Fowl, Half-Moon Investigations, The Supernaturalist) the book will just be missing all of it's Douglas Adamness. Honestly I think Eoin just doesn't hae the Douglas style....
Though he does make me laugh:)

This series is Outstanding, Douglas Adams is probably the most quotable author i know (/'_')/ . the fifth book is called Mostly Harmless, and the sixth is written by Eoin Colfer (which i have not read). I highly recommend it to anyone who has the time. However, do NOT see the movie :D

>>7 The movie wasn't really aweful. Sure they changed quite a bit, but it was still okay.

Ok, that was unfair of me. I did like the movie, but it definitely pales in comparison to the books. i shouldnt have worded that so strongly

I got all of the books for my birthday two years ago but didn't read it because science fiction wasn't what I really liked back then, I was much more into Goosebumps and stuff like that, you know the light-hearted horror stories meant for children. Because I felt bad for it just sitting there on my bookshelf collecting dust in the corner, I got out the first book and read it. Good gods I regret not reading it two years ago!

The 5th book is Mostly Harmless and is written by Douglas Adams, the sixth book on the other hand is not. Great series.
