Books that I've enjoyed: The Book Thief, The Thief Lord, The Hunger Game series (three total), Cirque du Freak series (twelve total), All Quiet on the Western Front, Dracula, Salem's Lot, The Devil's Arithmetic, and 1984. I couldn't give you all the authors off the top of my head, but I know that Stephen King is a phenomenal author

7 Name: Redkid : 2011-12-29 22:32 ID:Yvdx38kF [Del]

I like the hunger games trilogy. To date, aside from the Goosebumps Interactive books, that is my all time favorite series. They're making a movie out of it. Enclave is also cool. It's only one book, but its alot like the hunger games if not better. That's saying something. I'd read it if I were you. It'll change your definition of a good book.

The hunger games, Harry potter, NOT TWILIGHT. You really can't go wrong with those. A few osf my favorites are: Howl's moving castle, treasure island, the Evernight series, Theatre Illuminata, my fair godmother, and my unfair godmother. They are all fiction, and I enjoyed them.

17 Name: Yuiko : 2012-01-01 14:13 ID:OkkdQp6h [Del]

I would recommend the books Everlost, Everwild, and Everfound. They're a trilogy and my new favorite books. The ending is really awesome, because from different view points it's either really happy, or really sad.

18 Name: Alias!65Ekk2a7ZI : 2012-01-01 15:49 ID:SaXGjHFv [Del]

Maximum ride is good at first but the plot kind of disappears in the last few books. The Hunger games are amazing, and if you like the Everlost series you should probably read his other book Unwind, which was great. Also books by Diane Jones, while for children, are usually pretty interesting.

One of my favorites would be "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clarke. It pretty much inspired every bit of sci-fi that came after it in some way.
Another one would be the "Hyperion Cantos" series by Dan Simmons.

"The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle", by Haruki Murakami.

It's been my favorite since I read it, which was about 4 years ago. I think it's the kind of book where you either like the style, or you don't. But I highly recommend it, cause this book still hold secrets even though you read it dozens of times. ;)

34 Name: French Mudkip : 2012-10-23 22:13 ID:hKJDt/Ff [Del]

Anything by Haruki Murakami.

40 Name: Tsuki : 2012-10-26 05:33 ID:Jk4btvlN [Del]

I mean, any of his novels. He doesn't have a novel called Anything. Also, some more memorable novels which I found enjoyable are Sputnik Sweetheart, Norwegian Wood, A Wild Sheep Chase and also Dance, Dance, Dance.

41 Name: Kira : 2012-10-26 23:13 ID:1/n/B5W9 [Del]

I tend to stick to fantasy and fiction. So I'd suggest Christopher Paolini's series, J.K Rowling, and Rick Riordan if you're feeling for something easy.

42 Name: ShotaroKaneda !radhZ7oYHc : 2012-10-27 08:38 ID:HxmsdOyB [Del]

>>41 Have you read The Lord of the Rings or A Song of Ice and Fire books? Because, no offence, but I find that the only people who like Christopher Paolini and Rick Riordan books are people who are usually fantasy noobs who think that they're the most original pieces of literature in the world. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just saying that there is a lot better than that out there.

43 Name: Alice !l14UvTg4qQ : 2012-10-27 10:19 ID:Ugtj7mQV [Del]

The Gone series by Michael Grant. There are currently five books out as of this post, and they are all amazing. The story follows is basically a huge dome appears over a town, and everyone over 15 disappears inside. Then weird mutated animals and kids with special powers appear. One of the critics on the book said it perfectly, if Lord of the Flies (also a great book) was written by Stephen King, it would be Gone. Also, interesting note, the author is married to K.A. Applegate, the author of the Animorphs series, which is also awesome.

44 Name: Kira : 2012-10-27 22:38 ID:1/n/B5W9 [Del]

>>42 I'm aware of that. I haven't read Rick Riordan or Christopher Paolini in a while, actually. They were just the only ones I could actually think of when sleep deprived and half unconscious. There's a lot of other novels and books I love that have amazing quality, but I haven't read a book in a while, since I got my laptop.

I know a lot of people would say that the Hunger Games is good, and I'm not picking on their opinion, but Koushun Takami's Battle Royale is much better by comparison. Not to mention it is basically the original teens having to kill each other for survival type of book.
