So anyone here read the House of Night series? It's a really good series. Especially if you like vampire stories that have some romance, action, comedy, etc.

just so anyone who doesn't know ^^^ that isn't the correct order. Burned comes before Awakened. Then there's Destined

I read it up till Hunted but I started hating the characters and the plot seem bleh so I stopped and haven't read passed that.

though i tried, i just couldn't read destined (the latest book). aside from Aphrodite, i began to resent the characters as the series progressed, Zoe in particular. All they did was whine and bitch and it all turned so faggoty and pathetic T^T i was so unimpressed with awakened, I've just given up on the series lol

I'm on page 54 of Destined and so far it's not so bad in my opinion but I just love series :D. The very beginning of it though I admit was a tad slow but it gets better :).

it started out grate but after this girl who was my friend and insistd on being called zoe after the amin charecter stabbed me in the back i lost my intrest. also zoe seems to be a major skank in the books and so does this girl who stabbed me in the back so reading the books reminds me if that and i get really pissed.

I love the books, but...I kinda hate Zoe. They didn't spend a terrible amount of time developing the personalities and backgrounds of many of her friends which, seeing as they're mostly from Zoe's point of view, makes me wonder just how much she really cares about their lives before being Marked. Also, I hate how Zoe whines and frets about all these guys being in love with her and then going and hooking up with all of them. It's like...really? "Oh I hate how hot and desirable I seem to be. Let's make out." >.>

The main protagonist is the biggest Mary Sue ever. I got turned off by the book after slowly realizing how much she irritated me because she had all the "perfect friends", all the hot guys were after her, she had special powers and so did her friends, people like her for some goddamn reason and she's good looking. No one can have all that just because they turned into a vampire. And even though she's over the top OP, she doesn't even use the power.

She barely has anything to whine about except "Boohoo. My family hates me." and "I didn't want to become a vampire." Yet she acts like angst teen when other characters had better reason to do so, yet they didn't and she did. She barely had any personality. She's a like worse version of Bella. All she ever does for most of the series is sulk, whine, and cry.

The world's in danger! Nope, all she does is think about her stupid boy problems. Everyone else is worried sick about her but she barely shows any true sign of concern. All she does is worry about herself all the time. She barely showed any sign of even thinking about everyone around her before doing what she does.

I definitely liked Stevie-Rae better. Now that's a good protagonist, who can fend for herself and she thought about others.

There are so many more other characters that get introduced, but they rarely ever get focused on even though they're supposedly the protagonist's so-called best friends.

To those out there considering to read this, don't. It's a terrible vampire story filled with Mary Sues and Gary Stus. Even the villains suck donkey balls, but at least they had a better background story than Zoe.

I liked the series at first, but to be honest-- I got tired of reading them after Hunted... for some reason I just couldn't take it anymore. I got tired of the usual love triangles at play and was so over Zoe.

And oh god. All the pop culture references and the stereotypes. No. Not all girls go "Oh hey, gurl~ What's up?! That's totally awesome!" No. Just no. This book is offensive to almost everyone. Their "teen talk" is just stupid. I can't believe I actually own any of her books. They're straight up awful now that I think about it.

I would even prefer Bella to the bitchy, ho that Zoe is. She freaking sleeps with 4 guys in the entier series, yet they call Aphrodite, who's only dated two guys, a slut, when Zoe clearly takes the cake. Aphrodite looks like an angel compared to Zoe.

Then the random monologues she has are so out of place; she even has them during the middle of conversations with people, yet no one finds it the least bit weird.

Then there's the part where everyone thinks that Zoe is always right. Someone calls her out for a being a slut and everyone's like "You're a bitch!" Derp. There are so many things in this series that are terrible, I can't even name them all. Just thinking about this piece of shit series makes me feel pissed.

This book makes Twilight seem decent.

(copy/pasta)The book is insensitive to all of these things:
Native Americans, Gay People, Writers, Artists, Teenagers, Even Teenyager Teenagers, Teenboppers, Gothic Kids, Normal Kids, 300 producers, Black People (How many times does it reference the ONE black girl's skin?), Sluts, Whores, Mormons (Im gonna say that that's the "People of Faith" she was referencing,), Nuns (WTH WITH THE MOTHER MARY EXPLANATION?!?!?!), Paganistic Blood Worship, Women, Men, Bram Stoker, White girls from Maryland, Oklahoma people, Oklahoma Peoples Accents.

They say you're a bitch to the accuser, not Zoe, unfortunately.
They turn on anyone who even tiniest disagrees with Zoe. And it's even said on the Wikipedia that Zoe was based off Kristen Cast, which is quite sad because anyone who knows good literature, hates Zoe and probably most of the introduced cast.
Self Insert Fic, anyone?
