I like reading Signet Classics when not assigned to do so, like right now im reading Don Quixote. And one classic i liked was Dante's Inferno, i like Dante Alighieri's writing style, because he wasn't writing for noble men like shakespeare was, i can understand old proper english but dante's style was refreshing, i've yet to read the rest of the divine comedy but this one was quite good, its a great concept that he came up with, im not a religious person but its cool to think about, all i've got to say is if you like Classic Literature don't pass this up. (its a lot better than the game's story too)

Awesome. That's one of my favorites! I've also read Dante's Purgatorio. It's good but the Inferno holds a special place in my heart. I haven't read the last one but I'm hoping I get to it soon.

La Purgatorio was my favorite, but Canto III, Lines 1-9 always ring in my ears

reminds me of my report abt The Divine Comedy in our WorldLit class..my classmates cursed me for making them memorize all the circles, terraces and celestial bodies xD including what happened and who Dante met. MWAHAHAHA (●`・ω・´●) i'm so evil.

I just finished reading Dan Browns new book, Inferno, which has a lot of references to this book. Would be interested in reading The Divine Comedy before visiting Florence (Dante's love) later this year, but where can I find a modern translation of the text? And who wrote it (The translation that is)?

I love, love, looooove Dante's Inferno. I don't understand the huge religious references that make up its point, but I still don't care. I just love it as a story in itself.

>>8 I've read Inferno as well. It's definitely interesting with both the main story and Dante references.
