Afraid of fruits or vegetables (18)

1 Name: Hikari : 2013-12-02 22:20 ID:dNtTH8Hu [Del]

Ever since I was 4 (Currently 14) I have not been able to eat fruits or vegetables. The taste just destroys my taste-buds and makes me throw up every-time. As a baby, my parents described me as a fruits and vegetables baby. That would be all that I could eat, until I was 4 and was fed Ice cream for the first time. My parents describe that day as the worst decision they have ever done. Ever since then I have not been able to eat any fruits or vegetables. I have tried multiple times but my parents have given up and because of that I have a weak body, and very weak body system. I literately get sick every winter, and usually lose a month of school because of what usually would be a small cold. Ive wanted to try multiple mind tricks like blind folding myself before I eat, but my parents refuse to help me. I do not blame them for anything, I only tell you because it might be important. Im trying to become fit and healthy, but because of this it has affected my entire life as a person. Please, if you have any advice please tell me. It could be a mental, physical, heck maybe even spiritual. I dont care how, but I want to be fixed. Thanks for reading

O_O that's interesting.... I have no idea really. Try mixing them in something? Like in scrambled eggs or ramen?

Well, I think it's a mental problem. My theory, is that I've blocked those foods out of my head. Any advice about that?

Raw or cooked vegetables? Or both? Is it the bitterness? Or the acid of some fruits? Have you tried any sweet vegetables? Can you eat grains? Have you tried tricking your brain by eating vegetarian imitation meat? Can you have fruit flavoured things? Have you tried anti-nausea medication? What about sweet potatoes? Can you even eat bananas?

Both. No. No. I have still I somehow gag it. I can eat grains. I can eat veggie meet. I can have fruit flavored things. I have not had any anti nausea medication. Same with sweet potatoes. I have somehow been able to eat bananas, but slowly and with somewhat of a gag once in awhile.

Then how about having hidden vegetable meatloaves or or pasta sauces? And if you can have fruit flavoured things, you could take vitagummies or similar to top up your nutrients. If you can have fruit or vegetable juices, that can help too. And yeah, try asking your doctor about anti nausea stuff.

Have you try making a smoothie. Because it will be thick as a milkshake or around there and you can combine different fruits with some vegetables in it.

>>7 iI have not, I'll be trying that see if it works. But is it really the same if I just blend the food up? Does it have the same nutrients, vitamins, and flavor?

9 Name: PierogiGuy : 2013-12-05 13:12 ID:F+sGTIlK [Del]

>>8 Basically it like making your own juice so it has all the vitamins and minerals. it will taste like whatever you put in it. so start small like some different types of berries or strawberries and banana maybe add some vegetables (shredded carrots and spinach)once you find something you like to combine

Thanks it's been helpful so hard. I'm having a little of a hard time about the pulp but other than that I can still get it. How about for veggies because so far I've only heard about fruit

>>10 Glad it help. the only vegetables I heard about is shredded carrots or spinach in smoothie. as long as you add it with fruit you won't taste the vegetables.

>>12 Try Chickpeas. Incredibly healthy, and more like nuts than vegetables.

Nuts I have never had a problem with. Especially unsalted or honey roasted.
What I have been doing a lot is taking Vitamins, and nutrition shakes to help out for now. I've been getting used to fruit shakes, but I'm still having problems with the veggies. Carrots with ranch...threw up the first try... And if you also have anything to help with salads that would be great! Thanks for all your help guys so far!!

I am just spitballing at the moment but how about just minced the vegetable as small as you can and hide it in your food. like mince onion and bell pepper, give it a little saute and put it in some meat for a burger.

oh yeah have you try hummus or baba ghanoush. they both Mediterranean type of dips with basically the same ingredients bu hummus is made with chickpeas and baba ghanoush with eggplant

This doesn't sound a bit different, but why don't you try eating soup with vegetables? Chicken soup usually has all sorts of vegetables and i prefer to eat my vegetables a bit more flavored with at least something.

Have you been taking multi-vitamin pills? It should at least provide most of the nutrients given by vegetables and fruits.
