O.o why are you gluten free? An allergy, or just trying a new thing? I mean, I just graduated from baking and pastry and am now in culinary, so I bet I could make you a few good recipes, but still there is a CRAP ton of things you would never guess that has gluten in it and does.

>>3 wheat in general? Like even white bread? Or Whole Wheat? I'm allergic to Whole Wheat, but Bread flour, AP Flour, Cake Flour, I'm all right with. But things made with Whole Wheat Flour I'm allergic to.

I know what gluten free means. Again, baker. I worked with gluten all year last year. So I know what it means to not have it in your diet. I could probably make you some recipes for cookies and cakes that uses Hazelnut or Almond meal instead of flour. I have yet to find a good gluten free bread. We made a gluten free banana bread last year *shutters from thought*....... I'd say be very careful when you go out to eat at a nice restaurant. They "dredge" their meat. Meaning they lightly coat the out side of the meat in flour before cooking it to help hold in flavor, moister, and to give it a nice color.

>>7 This what I learned on my menu planning class. Some restaurant are starting to put a G (Gluten free)or a V (vegetarian) by the items on the menu so the customers don't really have to ask.

Another thing you'll need to check if eating out, is whether or not flour has been used in sauces for things. Some places use flour as a thickener to sauces.
