I'm not a fan of the green tea flavor but I mochi before that was covered in sesame seeds and it was pretty good.

I love mochi. It tastes best when you can get it fresh--there's a Japanese market in my city that makes them fresh. :) But if you can't get them fresh the prepackaged/store-bought ones are good too. I love the green tea kind (I love green tea :D) and the ones with the azuki bean paste are tasty as well. Ice cream mochi is delicious on hot days. I also had sesame dango once but I haven't had the sesame mochi.
Be warned about trying to make these from scratch with a microwave. One can easily screw it up by having a microwave that isn't powerful enough. O-O;

I have heard that if you don't eat it before a certain period of time it can get hard and make the mochi inedible, but there's usually a way that you can cook it again so that you ca properly eat it.

Mochi is absolutely delicious! You just have to try to make it the traditional way (Mochitsuki) with a large wooden mallet in a wooden mortar. The mochi prepared this way has a far chewier texture and smoother mouth feel compared to the mochi you can buy already prepared. Cheers to this wonderful treat ^__^

I bought boxed mango flavour mochi at London Comic Con and to be honest, they were weird. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't like it either. But I love the idea of the, so I'll buy more and hopefully get used to the taste. I'll also try and buy from a more legit place to get maybe fresher mochi :)
