What is the Weirdest Food You've Eaten? (239)

1 Name: Melodux : 2011-03-16 15:23 ID:iheXr7Tx [Del]

I'm just curious to see what weird foods people have eaten. Would you reccomend it? How did it taste?

Recently, I just had a folding lollipop. I can't find a picture, sadly, but it started out as a thin, Fruit Roll-Up-lookin' thing. Then you folded it up to make a sucker. I had the green kind {there was red and green}, and if you asked me what it tasted like, I'd say it tastes like "I Don't Know". It was spicy, but good~! I would reccomend it.

{pictures are encouraged}

The most weirdest thing I've ever drunken... Em... maybe the mixture of mile shake, cola, orange juice , soy and some potato chips in it. GOSH! i don't want to recall the feeling when i tasted it, that's sucks!
I had it cuz i lose a game... that horrible mixture was the punishment

3 Name: Yakuru!5GnPok9kAc : 2011-03-19 14:43 ID:nn1COE2T [Del]

DO NOT mix chocolate pudding with barbecue sauce. O_O
It's nasty...

4 Name: Misuto : 2011-03-20 13:10 ID:bi2fyuKh [Del]

Similar to Hsin, I had to eat some nasty stuff when losing a game of Consequences or something similar.

I think I had... a jelly cookie covered with mayonnaise, ketchup, spicy dijon mustard, dunked in soy sauce, and washed down with apple cider vinegar.

Yeah. That wasn't fun. On top of tasting terrible, the apple cider vinegar and spicy mustard made it difficult to breath properly for a few minutes afterwards.

Don't lose these games.

A peanut butter and bologna sandwich OTL;;

6 Name: kito : 2011-03-21 00:50 ID:jCXlTKNb [Del]

Duck egg with the duck still in it. I used to love it but now when I realized that that thing is actually an actual duck, well I stopped
=_=

>>6 8D was it balut?

8 Name: Rika : 2011-03-21 15:04 ID:iFxfLQVY [Del]

Yay, I'm the third person that had to eat nasty food for loosing a game in here ~ (owo)
It was actually tuna with peanut butter and milk... blah, gross... (=n=)

9 Name: Silver!ozOtJW9BFA : 2011-03-23 04:17 ID:lbV8DA7M [Del]

Ha ha ha. Balut ftw ☺

I remember eating a dog by accident. Our neighbour told me that it was a goat, and I don't eat goats, because I imagine their eyes whenever I think about eating them, and I can't bear it. But I managed to pluck up the courage and eat "goat" meat. It was good.

The next day, my uncle went to our house and he saw the leftover food.

"This is dog meat, what's it doing here?" he asked.

I cried. I really did, and I felt like throwing up. I was about 9 years old then. That's the weirdest food I've ever eaten.

I had something strange the other day... Deep-fried cuttlefish {from China}.

It smelled great, but the taste was kind of bitter... And the texture was really crumbly, it reminded me of the flakes you feed little goldfish and smaller fish. Not reccomended unless you're in to eating fish food. =/

No offence or anything, but the balut made me gag a little when I read the wiki. Does it really taste good?

11 Name: Misuto : 2011-03-23 14:41 ID:bi2fyuKh [Del]

Never honestly had balut before, but my parents tell me it was their favorite food back in the Philippines. They ate that stuff like french fries, man.

I would eat it if I had the chance, I already eat both eggs and duck. What could go wrong?

12 Name: Melodux : 2011-03-25 06:09 ID:2y7xkwCi [Del]

Lol. I guess they call it "chewing gum of the orientals" for a reason.

13 Name: Hsin : 2011-03-25 11:41 ID:agyaRy97 [Del]

>>7 i eat both eggs and duck...but the pic in wiki is a little bit creepy when i see it first time o.O

>>9 some people like eating dog meat here, but i can...cuz i love doggy T T, ther'r so cute~~
one of my friend ate dog meat by accident like you.. and she told me her dog also ate dog meat by accident = =b

I have eaten macaroni fried rice style and fricken fried jellyfish. And it was not beautiful

15 Name: Irk !Y7kBtlCaVo : 2011-03-28 12:45 ID:sIRsD6Bd [Del]

Weird as far as what the food was.. Probably just Eel. It was alright I guess. I'll eat almost anything that can't look back at me though.
And generally not any head parts of an animal. I can't really get over eating brains and/or eyes.

I had this really weird drink from the asian food market once. It was carbonated, and was in a glass bottle. It had some kind of glass marble in it too. I have no idea what it was for. I have no idea why there was a glass marble in it though.
I can't really look it up either cause there wasn't any english on the label, haha.

16 Name: Melodux : 2011-03-30 09:38 ID:2y7xkwCi [Del]

@Irk; You had Ramune! I love Ramune {especially mellon-flavored <3} The marble was in it to cut down the carbon {and for decoration}, plust it's wonderful because it makes the drink last longer.

17 Name: Irk !Y7kBtlCaVo : 2011-03-30 12:11 ID:sIRsD6Bd [Del]

Yeah; that. I guess, haha.
Is it just me, or are they insanely sweet?
The original flavour tasted like bubblegum.
And the melon flavour tasted like.. Melon + Bubble gum.

18 Name: Melodux : 2011-03-31 09:39 ID:2y7xkwCi (Image: 411x379 jpg, 52 kb) [Del]

src/1301582382183.jpg: 411x379, 52 kb
Ohhh yes. They are insanely sweet. But it's very good {I think}. Not for people who don't have sweet tooths.

19 Name: Yuki : 2011-04-01 04:49 ID:OjvcX2j8 [Del]

I drank the Sake with a raw egg in it...it tastes...not so good i think. But My friend told me that some Japanese would drink this stuff when they caught a cold.

20 Name: whitepants : 2011-04-01 10:55 ID:FBmwvrGU [Del]

my girlfriend's chewed bubble gum hmmm..... I know it is not that weird but for me it is now weird because she is my X now........

@Yuki; The Japanese seem to like to mix raw eggs with everything. I'm indifferent about it. I had rice mixed with raw egg and soy sauce. It was quite flavorful I would only recommend it if you're cool with tasting raw egg.

@whitepants; Do you have a picture..? XD j/k sorry about that, though.

23 Name: gao : 2011-04-03 04:07 ID:sCE38/0B [Del]

when i was younger, because i was a gullible *coughstupidcough* little gao, i was told to eat chicken nuggets dipped in a mix of barbeque sauce, ranch dressing, choco milku, maple syrup, ketchup, mustard... and possibly tapioca pudding ._.

they said it was supposed to b yummeh. well, erryun, i can tell u, it wasnt. it really, really wasnt. =________________=;;

24 Name: whitepants : 2011-04-03 10:16 ID://bFWN73 [Del]

>>22 well I dont have picture of it but try to imagine a juice gum with a saliva as a juice on it hmmmmmmm though it was pretty good but very wierd...........

25 Name: Melodux : 2011-04-06 13:01 ID:nB76IJq4 [Del]

@whitepants; lol. That's gross. XD

I had something that wasn't really weird, but something I've never had before - caramel-covered Chex Mix. It was a little chewy but really good!

26 Name: whitepants : 2011-04-08 11:56 ID:4J1cF/uR [Del]

34 Name: Misuto : 2011-05-25 19:35 ID:3imEJ3cy [Del]

35 Name: mimiechii : 2011-05-26 05:51 ID:vyBZjsyV [Del]

Octopus.

I'm not even joking, suction cups and everything.

41 Name: Constanta : 2011-06-13 00:41 ID:9OGoQyWE [Del]

weirdest food:
-pancake with hot sauce, butter, maple syrup, french fries, meat, and cheese (thanks alot mom...) (worst food ever)
weirdest drink:
-a mixture of coke, coffee, ice, salt, and ice cream (its very nice, but soars my throat) (made purposefully by yours truly at M*D)

actually, there's a lot of bizarre food i ever tasted. Its been a habit for me to fool around with food lol.

42 Name: Paradoxchan : 2011-06-13 02:55 ID:IRzDGe38 [Del]

>>34 its not necessarily about eating the small duck, some prefer not to eat it as they think it's disgusting in a way especially with the small duck's hair sticking out... though there are people who eat the small duck, i dont eat the small duck myself but i know people who do and they say its delicious.

43 Name: Akito : 2011-06-19 16:51 ID:kBpZT7xq [Del]

Rice rolls with maple syrup. It almost killed me, I've never heard of the disastrous combo before, and I will never ever try it again. If you're curious on what kind of rice roll, it's this: 김빱

44 Name: 70K1D0K1 : 2011-07-06 22:14 ID:cvJ/X7ev [Del]

I eat balut all the time. It's really tasty actually (duck fetus included, but not the hard white part). I've eaten other weird stuff too, like bacon with ice cream, bananas with soy sauce, corn sadwiches, pickle sandwiches, anything I can combine...

>>41 That pancake actually sound delicious! Well, except for the hot sauce since I'm not good with spicy...

45 Name: Pinni : 2011-07-07 06:22 ID:49XvSihS [Del]

>>18 I. LOVE. RAMUNE. How does it count as weird? D:
And about the balut... I remember when I was little I was watching some travel show about China and the host lady was eating and sucking the balut, and I didn't even flinch. Now it irks me. A lot.
Um, I've tried a lot of weird foods but I guess the one that stands out in my mind the most is I guess oranges and chicken chips... seriously, you balance them right and they taste like spaghetti bolognese, if memory serves.

46 Name: Azuki : 2011-07-08 01:46 ID:kxrM7WwT [Del]

Gee, I don't feel like what I had was weird anymore >.<
I once had a peanut butter jelly sandwich with mayo once..
It was...well, gross.

56 Name: Pokjhdbnxw : 2011-07-10 13:56 ID:whF1lUbZ [Del]

It wasn't me who ate it but, my dad told me he ate a boiled frog.
Not only that but it was alive, skinned, and staring at him from his plate. Kinda sad if you picture it.

ONLY GOOD THINGS CAN COME OF THIS DECISION

>>59 I had cow tongue when I was younger, but I don't even remember it clearly. We stopped having it when my grandpa told my brother what was in this delicious soup we were having, and he threw up.
We just use normal beef now :I

Also, shark fin - how is that? I've heard of people eating it but it doesn't really sound gross nor appetizing.

And I assume snails taste similar to oysters or something.

62 Name: Noodles!8NBuQ4l6uQ : 2011-07-13 08:15 ID:JDWzA14k [Del]

oysters o-e'

63 Name: Michishige : 2011-07-13 22:52 ID:nrMoPHE7 [Del]

Octopus and squid. Really enjoyed it! Oh and Alligator tail.

64 Name: Juichi-pon : 2011-07-14 17:01 ID:lScisR+U [Del]

Umm.. Goat's blood and meat stew ^0^ I love eating it. Though when I watched my dad cook it I kept looking at the blood like: O-O

Also at school my friend and I would buy these cheeseburgers. They were VERY plain. It was only the buns, patty and cheese. So he brought Nutella and we ate the burgers with that. It was really good! Actually, I guess any type of meat with Nutella (or any chocolate for that matter) tastes good. It still contained it's taste as a burger but the Nutella enhanced it's flavor with sweetness :DD

Oh and I don't know if this is weird but I made this dessert type of food using some soft buttered sweet bread slices and put corn in between them. Heated for 30sec-1min and bon appetite!

65 Name: 70K1D0K1 : 2011-07-15 00:14 ID:cvJ/X7ev [Del]

>>64 Those Nutella burgers will now also be put on my list of foods to try! *_*
I've eaten something similar to the corn sandwich thing before, except it was just normal bread + corn + bacon fat. I guess I'll try it with just butter and sugar next time, then.

I recently ate unagi (eel) sushi. Previously, because of the pre-made packaged stuff, I didn't like sushi, but a friend made it and because she tried my onigiri I was determined to try her sushi. And I loved it. I came to realise in the past 4 years of university that I am the weird one for not liking sushi, but now I can say that, made properly, I like sushi. Some kinds anyway xD

I've had a wasabi sushi, not for the faint hearted, only try if you can stand your brain and nose being on fire. Also, had Habanero Red Hot Vanilla Icecream. That was veeeeerrrrrry good actually, but don't eat it if you can't take the spice, or you may die XD, they even make you sign a waver before you eat it, so that whatever happens to you is not their responsibility XD

IDK if this would count as food, but I recently bought some kind of gum called "Bubble Doctor." They're bandaid-shaped strips of gum that come in two flavors: Grape and Original. I found them at this Japanese $2 store which I spent more than ten bucks on because all their stuff was ADORABLE and I cannot ressist Japanese products in general. It tastes like crap, end of story.

I would have to say fish eyes. My late uncle lived near a lake and fished a lot, so whenever I visited, fish was what we ate. Of course he tried not to waste what was left of the fish, se he fried the eyes. It wasn't so bad actually. Apparently it's a delicacy in The Philippines.

Live squid. They weren't all that big, and im not even sure it was squid, mighta been octopus. I didnt chew. A few minutes late it was swimming in the toilet.
Fried scorpion. Pretty good, really crunchy.
To get my ass of a stepbrother to let me use the car plug for my phone... I ate Maple syrup soaked pancakes dipped in ranch sauce with icecubes, sweetNlow, not SURE whatelse, i think he spit in it. It was good at first and then made me ill. My cousin then proceeded to eat all of it...YUCK
Fishsticks in chocolate pudding.
Sucked on a hunk of onion for a while then ate it.
Peanutbutter sandwich dipped in brocoli cheese soup.
Acorns.
Candlewax(when i was young)
85%cacoa dark chocolate with frozen gatorade.
Grahmcrackers dipped in liquid nitrogen. Try to keep your mouth shut when you chew cause the steam with shoot out your nose. Chew fast or i'll 'burn' your tounge.

You know the rules ... and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm ... thinkin' of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you ... understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

We've known each other ... for so long
Your heart's been aching, but ... you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been ... goin' on
We know the game and we're ... gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling

Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye

People are always surprised for some reason, so I'll include this: Moose. I've also eaten ostrich and chia seeds and yucca flowers and quail and acorn bread. That's all I can list off the top of my head right now. Moose is even better than deer, ostrich was decent, chia seeds are okay and actually pretty good for you, yucca flowers were odd but edible if you could get past eating the tiny bugs on them, quail was awesome, and the acorn bread was slightly modified from the native american version so it had more flavor and actually tasted really, really good.

When I was little, I made mini sandwiches out of cheez-its and mini marshmallows. Everyone thought it was weird until I let a curious kid try it at lunch, and he agreed it was delicious, too. Try it!

Cheez-its with marshmallows is not nearly as weird as some of what I've read in the rest of this thread, though...

In my elementary school everyone used to dip their oatmeal cookies into their spicy nacho cheese. And some would even mix their ground beef in the nacho cheese and dip their cookies in that. I was one of those kids and sweet heavens it was great.

I once ate a bug, but not by mistake; if not because they are preparing the salt and flour to eat. I thought for a moment that was not rich and even healthy but tasted good and then I found out that they are actually very good for health, are almost a super-food.

Ooh.. I've eaten a lot of weird things. From escargots (pretty mild) to frog legs, I'm pretty sure I accidentally tried dog when I was four... The weirdest thing I've eaten would probably be fugu, or pufferfish/blowfish this summer break. I was in Shinjuku and my insane aunt took us to a fugu restaurant, and we tried fried fugu, the hotpot, and sashimi. My favourite was probably the sashimi. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Japan, just make sure to have someone you know take you, or research before eating!

There was this one cookie thing from a dollar store that my family decided to try, and it was so weird to eat... like, it looked really good, but it felt like you were biting into calk, and it tasted horrible. To quote my father: "It's like some kid had a chocolate bar that melted all over his hands, then he walked into a cardboard factory and touched everything. That's what we're eating." Chalky cardboard, chocolate cookies. Yum.

I had a rattlesnake and rabbit sausage once, which I thought was divine. Elk burgers are amazingly good...I haven't had many bad food experiences, though I've tried a lot of stuff. As for Izumi and their octopus experience, I'm sorry you didn't like it. I live for that stuff...and squid...Hehe. I love food!
