Anything Junji Ito related, Otomo's Domu, Homunculus, which is rather extensive, Battle Royale, which spawned the movie hype, the first few chapters of gantz, really provocative and horrifyingly messed-up, and a 1-shot manga called Hideout, nice art in there. And any work of hideshi hino. His stories and narrative are more simplistic and rough-cut, but his pen produces some real monstrosities. That's as far as I have read.

Corpse Party is good.
Also one about evil magical girls? I forget the name but it's pretty gruesome.

A little late but here's some links to good horror.

High schooler Shiina Shinya thinks that all girls are pretty much good-for-nothing, mostly because he doesn't understand them at all. That doesn't stop him from being surrounded by strange girls! Tsubasa Tooka, a cute, much-admired girl, stalks him. Shikimura Masami is majorly into masochism, and has recruited Shinya into her play sessions. Ikari Satsuki seems suspiciously interested in the recent serial stabbings, and seems to want to drag Shinya into it. Banjou Yoruko, a normally quiet, bookish girl, has decided she and Shinya are bound up in some fantasy setting. Uchida Yumeji is the school's sleeping beauty, who spends all of her time in the infirmary because she requires so much sleep. Shinya brings her newspapers, so she can keep up with current events in the short time she spends awake. Lastly, Okui Akane is convinced she is a vampire. For all Shinya knows, it could be true, but in practice it just means that he has to let her drink his blood. How will Shinya deal with all these good-for-nothing girls that complicate his life?

Shiki is good :)

Try Uzumaki. I promise you can't ever look the spirals in the same way again :') I really recommend all Uzumaki's creator's, Junji Ito, other works too. Like Tomie and Hellstar Remina.

The Red Book is good too. It's a short stories compilation based on the mangaka's true experience. Basically it made from a lot of jump scares.

I do recommend Kago Shintaro's work too, but it has a lot of sex scene and all of his works consist of guro/gore. So maybe not so good if you don't like those kind of things.

If you like something a bit philosophical, you can try reading Hell Baby too. I like it very much. The style is intriguing too, though many people don't seem to like it.

Another philosophical works are Nishioka Kyoudai's works. They're quite bizarre and they drawing styles is very 'unique', but be careful, some of his/her works contain porno graphical scenes, though I think you wouldn't have any problem with that since the style of the drawing is very...unusual.

I heard Orochi is good too, and it's one of Japan's popular horror comic back in the past, but I don't really like the drawing style (it makes me dizzy) so I haven't read much. But maybe you can try it. It was once Japan's best seller, or so I heard.

I have read Eden no Ori (Cage of Eden) too. The start of the story was very satisfying and full of adventures, though I warn you, the ending isn't what you would look forward to. It's a survival-themed comic and the creator made another survival-themed comic before it, titled EX-Shounen Hyouryuu which, even though the whole story can't be compared to Eden no Ori, gave a more satisfying ending and good enough to read.

If you like survival-themed horror, you can also try Kanojo wo Mamoru 51 no Houhou or Distant Sky. Not really classified as horror, but the thrills make Kanojo wo Mamoru 51 no Houhou a good read. While on the other hands, Distant Sky packed with more horrific graphics with a shred of mystery.

Try Tokyo Ghoul, I really liked it

Mononoke Soushi is good too. I really liked the protagonist, Tenome and her stories. Sometimes the story is confusing, but it was full of thrill and unexpected things. If you like Uzumaki, maybe you can try this one too. I have a nostalgic feeling like I'm reading Uzumaki

I would recommend Ajin. I know the anime is just starting to come out, and I haven't watched any of it yet, but I've really been enjoying the manga. It's not super gory, but it's got a good mix of psychological suspense, badass characters, and gut-wrenching injuries.

Gyo, really amazing, just a classic masterpiece.

If you like a lot of mystery, you can also try Manhole. The horror, the idea, the plot, all of it are good and it's one of those detective stories. You should read it sometimes :)

I keep hearing about this manga but it's not good at all. Every time I hear someone talk about it I just have an impulsive feeling of shutting them up forcefully because it's fucking painful listening to them. The comedy in this manga is old and boring. The gags are recycled so much and you can tell that the mangaka doesn't really remember what good humour is anymore. But yeah, it is scary.

You know, I think that manga would be great, there's satire that comes with the shit jokes, its quite wide and spacious allowing multiple plot elements to come in at once, I think this has the promising future of a ecchi

Honestly, I'm going to recount what I've heard of Twisted Sister's vagina. Not word for word, and I'm going to be a little liberal with the transcriptions from my memories.

Art style is so so, not really beautiful, the average kind when reading manga. But somehow, it gives off this creepy aura and really makes the atmosphere perfect for a horror. The gore is good, but sometimes there is a little too much blood. And the artist is goddamned lazy for never making a single color picture, or is it just not popular enough to get on the one?

And the story, the goddamned story. The plot development is slow, and it never has much tension. When you reach the climax, you're only a little bit scared, and that's because the artist has a talent for scaring people. What a waste of a good artist. The story is cliche, and you can predict almost everything.

The characters....well, they die off almost right after they get on screen, not much to say? Mostly, one dimensional, not even 2, so forget about depth. I mean, half the characters that have appeared don't even have names.

All this is hearsay, even if I made it sound like I've read it before. I'm not going to read a manga that's been described as horrible as it has been by my peers, not matter how much preparation and mental protection I have.
