Eishi Karasuma is a loner with a monotnous life and only one friend, Mikisada Kamoda. One day while skipping class the two meet Tsubame, a very energetic girl and Rei Sagisawa, a pretty boy that attends the same middle school. On the way back the bus they're all on crashes, which would have almost certainly lead to their deaths if not for the intervention of the mysterious "Birdman".
This manga was an instant read for me, because I'm a fan of Yellow Tanabe's previous work, Kekkaishi. It's fairly new though and there are only 7 chapters out at the moment.
The pic (and volume cover if you look it up) might make it look a bit grim, but so far it's not really the case. The cast is likable, their interactions are fun and there's a healthy dose of humor throughout. It's just starting out, but I'm enjoying it so far and am looking forward to see how it develops!
