For all the Skip Beat fans out there, what are your thoughts on it? What do you think separates it from other shojo manga?

It has a lot more comedy then most shoujo I read. Of course I'm far behind in the series. =w= but I really do enjoy it, it's filled with a lot of comedy with a side dish of romance.

I'd say, there isn't enough romance in it, but it's all good.

I watched the anime and it was so funny! But it didn't have any romance part because Tsuruga Ren can't (or won't) realize that he likes Kyoko. I hope the anime would have a season two, though.

>>11 I agree it's definitely funny and I too hope the anime has a season two as well. It's just that good :D I've read the manga too!

So I just found my Skip Beat! manga novels and remembered that it was actually the first real manga I ever read. I felt nostalgic and have spent the past few days catching up on the anime and manga.

I forgot how good this manga is as far as design, characters, story, etc. go. Kyoko is 10/10 character. I'm also really surprised at Ren's developments.

I'm not normally one to get legitimately worked up over shoujo manga, but the Heel siblings arc had me a little... yeah. That was interesting. I usually get turned off by girls topping, but damn. Definitely the best part of the manga yet.

I'm so frustrated that they're in the middle of a break from that arc atm. I'm also equally frustrated that the damn translators are taking so long when there are so many different teams working on the series. There's no reason it should be a month between chapters :\

At least I caught it at a good time. The English translation for chapter 212 will be coming out in a few days. I really hope Cain makes his appearance again. Hng.

I lied. It seems to be the scanlators at fault more than the translators. For some reason, raws are only been put up twice a month. Kind of odd :\ I guess it's to keep there from being long waits between volumes, instead balancing it out through each chapter.

I'm reading the manga since it started coming out and that's REALLY a long time ago xD I liked it more at the start - the art and the story - but I'm happy to finally see real development for Kyoko. She's the best of them :) I think Skip Beat is so good, because it never looses the aspect of the show biz world and the acting while giving bits of romance - even when the romance developes, there is still a 'personal' story 'just' about Kyoko.
