I just shifted to comic book writing this past year and have a few things coming out soon through publishers and Graphicly. I'd love to talk to anyone else on here who creates their own comics. Any talented artists or writers out there? What do you guys and gals like as far as comics and/or Japanese manga goes?

I think it's great that you're already creating stuff at that young an age. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. People tried to put me down all the time when I was younger and now it looks like I could get my own series.
It sounds cheesy, but just practice, practice, practice! I had to fill notebooks over and over with scripts before I finally learned how to do it properly!

I did draw my own comics for awhile...then just stopped. Id like to get to it again. But I don't have enough confidence in myself

The only one true thing about creative stuff is that you're going to fail. But failing is good. I've learned everything I know from making mistakes, realizing why it was a mistake, and then going from there.
Granted it ended up being expensive a couple of times, haha. But still, truer words never spoken about comics.
I'd say just draw a little everyday cheychey, just practice one thing one day of the week. It'll come eventually. Then you can post your stuff on here and we could give you suggestions on how to improve!

Here!!!....im currently making a manga and anime...it's called "Soul Squad Zero" it's about gaining freedom...and each character who joined the group has reasons why they joined...and some of them are the last of their type classes...IM ENJOYING DOING THIS!!!!!! YAY!!!!

I'd love to see any of your guys' stuff if your'e willing to share. Go ahead and post pictures of drawings or concepts and we can all comment on them! The only pages I have right now are ones that are going to be published (and I didn't draw them, just wrote the script), so I don't think I can post them legally. But I always love talking with other creators!

Some friends and I do a webcomic on Smackjeeves, but I won't share with you all just now. After finishing the first chapter and then taking a three month hiatus, we've decide to scrap it and redo it almost from scratch. Same story, better plot progression. I'll come back when it's up and running again. Please look forward to it.

I'd actually prefer if you only looked at the things like the character page and synopsis or skimmed the comic to look at some of the better art, but I can't stop you from reading it. Just remember that we're rather unsatisfied with it, and it is being redone.

Thank you, I guess, if "that Soul Eater feel" is a compliment. But it still needs a lot of work.
Funny story about the "DERP". When I was planning that page, I wrote "DERP" next to Kel-E simply to describe her facial expression. But the artist took it literally after I handed it off to her and turned it into dialogue. We ended up keeping it, obviously.

I draw mangas just for fun, but a friend a mine is getting a one shot published this winter and I'll be helping him do the shadows ^^ not to mention I've also given him some ideas he's added to the manga :P so I guess you could say yeah I do create comics and stull like that, and we're both only 15 years old xD age doesn't matter :)
