This manga is something else, like all of Asano Inio's works, it's something else. Well grounded in realism, with a story about people that could easily be me and you or any of our friends, Solanin is something I'd easily recommend to everyone I know. Though you'd probably relate to it better if you're about 20, 20-something.
I'm still a little emotionally overwhelmed since I just finished it, so I'm going to go with an internet copy paste for the synopsis: "After graduating from college, Meiko went straight to work as an office lady, but she can't help feeling there should be something more to life. Determined to find a worthier goal, she quits work, but can she actually make her nebulous dreams come true- and how will her sudden decision affect her relationship with her boyfriend Taneda?"
way to ruin the story for people who hasnt read it yet Akaku, lol. this was a really good manga. for those that might like this check out Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan.
copypasta the synopsis: " A pianist who attempted suicide 3 times, Juri, is taken to help her aunt at a prison where murderers who killed indiscriminately are sentenced to death. There, she meets a man named Yuu who took the lives of 3 people. A mother's antagonism--a brother's death... Together they embrace the violent rebellion in their hearts caused by the large, deep scars they carry. However, before long, they both embrace an earnest hope in their hearts. "I want to live"..."
started reading this this morning wonderful art style first and foremost I love the whole general feel of it only 1/4 of the way through, can't wait to see where it goes
Ahhh I love all of Asano Inio's works!! My all time favorite of his, and favorite manga over all would have to be Oyasumi PunPun.
Lol and I remember once I was at the book store looking for manga and I came across one by Asano Inio called A Girl on the Shore and I had never read it before so I was like- Why not! So I bought the book and brought it home, then I opened it up and whaddaya know its super graphic and I was like 'did I just accidentally buy hentai???'. I'm used to Asano's slight graphic scenes like in Oyasumi Punpun but this was a bit...much. I was planning on returning the book but that never happened.. Now it's just hidden away in my room...
