What are your top 3 or more favorite anime and why? (28)

1 Name: SnowyBunny : 2015-08-28 01:02 ID:vW7/gLz2 [Del]

I have been reading all of your beautiful posts now, and I decide to post a fairly basic and simple question on what you lovelies' top three or more favorite anime are. It's just a easy question for me to know about all of you guys and hey, perhaps get some anime recommendation too. :) If best I also wish for a reason why you guys love that anime! >w< Just to make it more interesting.

I'll start off with mine:

1. Gintama
Yes, it might be a great surprise if anyone's top anime is Gintama since most of the time it seems like plain comedy and parody, fairly stupid and boring especially if you're not into its comedy. However, as someone who enjoys the comedy the anime serves as a great entertainment--this is not the reason I love Gintama, however. I love it for its quotes, its characters (Gintoki is also my top favorite anime character), and most of all, oh dear, its serious arcs that occur once in a while. When Gintama gets serious, it hits me deep in the feels, and Gintoki is gorgeous with both his fights and his knowledge, his past strikes me and I love how touching Gintama can be, I cry a lot from this anime and I find both its comedy and its seriousness wonderful.

2. Natsume Yuujinchou
Four seasons of pure heartwarming stories, beautiful main lead and cute cat (Nyanko-sensei). This anime also hits me deep in the feels and really touching, its short stories featuring the sweet or bitter tales of youkais and how Natsume manages or tries to help each of them are really beautiful, you guys should give it a try.

3. Psycho Pass
Great story plot, really cool, and great characters. The main female lead shows beautiful character development from start to finish, and the second season didn't fail to express the same awesomeness of the anime. I find the idea of controlling a whole society by their criminal rate mindsets really unique. All characters are really special and different from each other too. Although I really hate that girl in the second season I find it unworthy to remember her name, her stupidness really contracts with the main lead to show how cool she has grown up to be.

4. Stein Gate
I have never seen a plot of time-travel becoming so intense and well-written, the plot and storyline is simply fantastic and gives you the feels, makes you feel along with the characters. One of the greatest anime ever made, with a lot of themes and heart-breaking romance. I love it. Very deep.

5. K
The plot idea is pretty cool, and as quite the fujoshi myself the yaoi feelings it give off hit me in my fujoshi heart haha. But that's not the reason I love this anime so much! Simply 13 episodes, and for me, it concludes and rounds up the story pretty well. The character struggles and the mystery behind Shiro (main guy) solved clearly, and the troubles between character relationship expresses well enough to hit me in the feels. I like this anime. Not bad.

6. One Piece
Welp, I'm sure I'm not the only fan. Have been watching One Piece since I'm young, and despite this large numbers of episodes it has not yet lose any bit of its original awesomeness. The characters each have a beautiful past filled with feels and sadness, and character develops throughout the series. The themes and lessons the anime teach, the quotes the characters had said no matter dead or alive, Ace's death that made me cry four times, cool actions, epic battles, awesome anime!

And of course, there is Full Metal Alchemist, including Brotherhood. I love it a lot as well, the bromance and the actions, the storyline that plays around with my heart strings, character growth (watching Edward growing taller oh my god). Also, Fairy Tail, great plot, cool actions, awesome romance...TOKYO GHOUL---manga is way better than anime, but it is also on my top list. Beautiful tragedy, great storyline, really deep and intense.
ETC.

How about you guys? What's YOUR top favorite anime?

My favorite might be Puella magi madoka magica. I love the unique take on magical girls, and it definitely tugs on your heart strings. It's not something I can casually watch though, because I often cry.

Something I could watch whenever would be Hataraku maou-sama. The devil is a part-timer. It's funny, interesting, and actually full of action. Would recommend. I think it's pretty underrated.

I also love psycho-pass, and your explanation perfectly fits.

Probably soul eater as well. I love the character dynamics and the plot, its fun and it doesn't drag on and on. The animation and style is very charming. All I can think of atm.

Code Geass has to be my all time favorite anime. I find Lelouch to be the most compelling character I've ever followed through a series. His intelligence and emotional depth are impossibly charming, and I can't help feeling everything he feels.
Aside from him, almost every episode is executed in such a way that so much happens without it getting confusing or seeming rushed.
Also, it made me cry so many times xD

Durarara! is also a huge one. There's something about the rhythm about the city of Ikebukuro that captivates me to a ridiculous degree ^^

1. Code Geass, amazing anime, loved the character Lelouch, he is amazing. Very intelligent character, to be able to observe his morals and his view on the world is very intriguing.
Can't really decide the rest, Natsume Yuujinchou is good, Durarara, Kuroko No Basket, and Tokyo Ghoul season 1 are all good.

5 Name: Satsuki : 2015-08-29 06:07 ID:SCH73aHH [Del]

first of all I really like the anime Kuroko no Basket because of the character's unique abilities and also I'm kind of fond of playing basketball so I think that's the reason why I like it....second is Fairy Tail because I get too carried away about the "Nakama Power" in this series and also I'm a great shipper of NaLu.....and lastly Shingeki No Kyojin because I'm too fascinated about the art and I really want to try using a 3DMG to kill a real life titan.

- Spice and Wolf: I love the interaction between Lawrence and Horo as well as the setting and the insight of the trading deals you get.
- Serial Experiments Lain: The concept of a digital world merging with the real world somewhat reminded me of Matrix, but got me to think A LOT more. Also the fact that you have to piece together every bit of information you get yourself to really understand what is going on.
- Mushishi: The positive energy every single episode of this anime gives off is just unbelievable. It is just so extremely relaxing to watch Ginko "solving" the different problems the Mushi cause.
- Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: The Magical Girl genre turned into a dark atmosphere and being very serious. It deals with the problems and backrounds of the magic the protagonists get.

>>6 I love Mushishi too, it's really quite unique, I find it a bit underrated. Each episode is so touching, it's definitely on my top list.

Damn guys thanks for all these anime recommendation

My top three will be fairy tail for its cool characters and great storyline, Shingeki no Kyojin because it's just epic and unique with its gore and plot, and SAO, Kirito is one of the greatest harem anime male lead out there.

11 Name: shiro : 2015-09-09 18:44 ID:ROIERa7j [Del]

2. Charlotte
3. Rokka no Yuusha / Aoharu x Kikanjuu

Durarara!!!, Kimi to Boku, Charlotte

Psycho Pass
I loved the idea how the law in the anime/manga works. The Characters were interesting. For me it also shows how you shouldn't judge the book by it's cover. Like a friendly person is actually a maniac.

Darker than Black
Well the story is interesting. People can use supernatural abilities but need to pay the price for using it. They become emtionless and killers.

From the New World
The beginning was a bit confusing and I thought the setting was in the 1970's...well until I realized that they live in a post apocalyptic world. But the more you watch the better it gets.

2.) Black Butler
3.) Naruto

16 Name: Raptor980 : 2015-09-11 03:09 ID:UeIAEZgU [Del]

Not in any particular order.

1. Durarara!!
Story is great and keeps your attention, but I'm sure you already know that if you're on this forum. 9/10

2. Chihayafuru
Essentially a sports anime about a Japanese card game called Karuta, this anime is fantastic. The music is some of the best I've heard in anime (love me some 99RadioService and the OST is fantastic as well). It revolves mostly around a girl who is introduced to Karuta by a school mate. Seeing as she is not good at anything in particular she decides she wants to become the best female player in Japan (essentially the whole world) and the title of "Queen". This anime is highly recommended by me. 10/10

3. Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
A gate is opened in the middle of Tokyo to another world. A team from the Japanese military is sent in through the gate. The other world is highly less developed than Earth. It is still ongoing as of me writing this, but is good enough to make this list. 8/10

4. White Album 2
Follows the light music club. It is a romance anime. This anime made me cry and made me really depressed after seeing it. It's not my most favorite, but gets points for affecting me in such a way. 7/10

5. Little Busters!
Watched this anime when it was ongoing a few years back, but recently came back to it a few months ago. It follows a group of friends who form a baseball team called the Little Busters! It is a slice of life anime, but the second season is where it really shines. If you watch this, MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE SECOND SEASON. 8/10

6. Ginga E Kickoff!
A sports anime about soccer. Follows a boy who is in elementary school who reunites his old soccer team. Together they decide with the help of their coach to shoot for becoming the best in the world. I enjoyed this one a lot (watched it twice so far). 8/10

7. NHK ni Youkoso! (Welcome to the NHK!)
An interesting change of pace from your normal anime. This anime follows a hikikomori (socially withdrawn shut-in) who is approached by a girl who says that she can cure him of his hikikomori-ness. This anime tackles a lot of problems we face in life. This is another highly recommended anime from me. 8/10

>>16 I'm definitely a fan of the manga for Gate, and so far the anime is doing a decent job at adapting. Sometimes the characters look a bit off, but seeing Rory rek shit fully animated will never stop being entertaining.

Ok, I wasn't here when this thread was made but,

There's already a thread for favorite anime and for top 5. Additionally there's threads for favorite comedy anime, favorite romance anime, favorite horror anime, favorite psychological anime, favorite music anime and maybe others that I missed.

Taking the above into account, it's my firm opinion that this thread doesn't need to exist. There's already enough for favorites.
