DRAMAtical Murder is an 18+ Japanese BL visual novel made by Nitro+chiral, the creators of Togainu no Chi. It was released in 2012, and now has an English patch out so we can all bask in it's glory.

"A time far in the future.
On Midorijima, an island to the southwest of the Japanese islands, people and nature once coexisted.
However, due to being purchased by the leading company of Japan "Toue Company", one third of the island has been changed into the extravagant amusement facility "Platinum Jail". HOWEVER, don't play it if you're freaked out easily. Some of the endings are GORY AS FUCK or otherwise triggering. Very much not for the faint of heart.
Also it will make you cry buckets.

I saw this on youtube. Most of the endings are really gory!!! I think that's because I've watched the bad endings. Lol!

I play this game on my Desktop a lot. It's actually really entertaining for a Yaoi game and just makes you kind of curious. The only thing that bugs me is that it doesn't work all too well on some computers.

I knew this would be at the top. I fucking love DMMD so much. Clear is such a cutie, and Koujaku is a romantic dork, and Aoba is probably the best game narrator I've read with in a while. If you haven't already, I definitely recommend downloading and playing the shit out of this game.

I recently joined the fandom, and it seems like I'm really hyped about the anime!! They're going to animate the Common route and possibly Ren's route (due to the fact that it's the true route).

It would also really great if they can release some character songs :) Like Clear's Jellyfish song ;_; It's so heartwarming and sad ;^;

I'm so excited for the anime even if they have to inevitably take out the yaoi. I just want to see Clear's face animated, then I can die happy.

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to play it. Parental issue...... the things I could do is watch the anime....

I loved the story, and the ships, although certain themes of the game get to me. Just a general sense of emotional abuse, although it's kinda trivial. I can only stick to the good routes, ahaha. The bad routes make me so sad.
The anime had so much potential in my opinion, so I was kind of disappointed with it overall.

It isn't as great as the game, so I would recommend playing the game itself.

Oh my gosh, I played both DMMD and DMMD re;CONNECT! I have a lot of helpful links, such as guides for the routes, if anyone happens to need them! This visual novel honestly made it to be one of my favorites, and I still go back to playing it really often.

When I was first introduced to DMMD I had no idea just how deep it is. I never expected the plot to be nearly as heavy as it was nor did I expect the bad endings to hurt me as much as they did. Every character is super developed, every plot point is examined, no stones are left unturned. This game is so solid.
The anime on the other hand...while I loved it,was a horrible adaptation. It should've been longer. It took routes that take HOURS to get through and squished them into 25 minutes. It just didn't do the game justice in my opinion.

I was not expecting that this would be at the top of the list lmao. Do not be blinded by the fact that this game is a BL VN. Some people might make it seem like this game is about banging most of the time, but I'm telling you, it's so much more. It's quite slow at first, but it's really worth the read. Not to mention the art work pre-re:code. It's just... So nice to look at.

What an amazing game! I had only previously played katawa shoujo but being a gay guy, I was wondering if there was any decent yaoi visual novels or anime. Sure enough a friend of mine recommended the visual novel of Dramatical Murder! I just finished Noiz's path (got the pokemon ending, went back, and got the good end) and I can't wait to pursue other guys in Aoba's little harem. Very well made and the adventure of the story is very terrifying at times. Great game!

My first route was Clear and I done fucked up and got the bad ending. I was so upset, god damn it robot. Then I managed to learn about the good ending. I then proceeded to scream internally once I went through the whole thing. Clear is my baby and I love him. Now if I could only get a significant other as sweet as Koujaku and as tech savy as Noizu. REN. I need that loyalty.

Imma just say this now I love Virus...We share the same birthday...DMMD is always going to have a spot in my heart. Each characters have a great backstory and their own personalities that are not the usual ones in an game like this. I have yet to play Re:Connect though I have seen Clears route which was...interesting. And the 'not twins' twins route...anyways its hard to compare DMMD to any other game out there. And I know my games.

And it seems like after Re:Connect I have another to get to. Well Then I will be busy.
