I played through this a while ago and thought it was good enough to share - as well as the fact that this board need more than the 17 threads it has. If demand reaches a certain point, I might start putting up summaries of VNs to keep this board going, but whatever.

The VN is based around Kouhei Kagami's interactions with his own emptiness and with three different girls who appear to be even more lonely and depressed than he is. While Kouhei may interact with all three girls, he can only save one of these girls from their problems in the grand tradition of flags and routes :P (Seriously - trying to help all three at once WILL collect you a bad ending).

Each girl has their own theme in relation to the problems they have to overcome. Aeka Shiraki's theme is bullying and social isolation (she's the one with the white hair), Mizuki Kirimiya's theme is intrapersonal relationships (any more is slight spoil, she's in the centre), and Cat Sidhe Nekoko's theme is drug use (she's the one on the right in the crazy getup).

Each and every character has a believable feel to them - everyone has their own problems and ways of attempting to solve them. It's this which allows the reader to become immersed deeply in the world the story creates, making you fully feel the torments and anguish of all the main leads. Hell, all the scenarios are possible in real life, no matter how extreme they may seem.

Of course, being an eroge it has H-scenes, but once again they're more used to explore the motivations and personalities of each character rather than just being there for the almighty god of fanservice. A couple may seem out of place, but looking back on them they actually made perfect sense, especially once you gain more information about the girl you're with.

Personally, I enjoyed Aeka's route the most, but that was probably because I could relate. Just remember - Aeka's route cuts away before the other two - if you haven't raised her flag by that date, she's gone - and if you've screwed up getting Aeka by that point, you most likely can't get the other girls either unless you haven't been focusing on Aeka at all.

In conclusion, Yume Miru Kusuri is one of the more emotional VNs I've read without having downer endings at the true end of each route (except for the fact you couldn't help the other two...).If you want downer endings, go read Kana Little Sister. Compared to Fate/Stay Night and Muv Luv it's quite short, as I blew through it in a day compared to a week for the above. I would personally recommend it to anyone else.

By the way, I have exams all of this/next week, but is there any specific VN you want me to look for or at? I was going to get my ass around to either reviewing Saya No Uta, finishing Muv Luv Alternate, replaying through Tsukihime, or finally starting Princess Waltz (either that or sucking less at Shogun 2).

This game actually... sounds quite amazing. I hadn't heard of this VN until just now, but its something I plan on looking into when I get back into my reading phase.

If you put up summaries of the VNs, try and add a link to somewhere we can torrent them + english patch. Sometimes, finding the VN is more painful than hearing about it.

little help here? i've tried downloading the parts multiple times, but when i try extracting with 7-zip it never extracts right. could someone walk me through how to get this game up and running? sorry,not much experience with VNs.

Run the iso file in a program such as DAEMON Tools Light. Think of the iso file as a virtual disk that needs an interpreter program to be read (via creating a virtual drive). Then install the VN as you would any other program.

seeing as no one's talking about the actual game anymore, let me say this game is one of the best visual novels ever. if i wasn't dirt poor, i would've bought this game from peach princess. and i NEVER buy VNs. But enough of my fanboyness. long story short: get. this. game.

i am really confused here. i extracted the file, and when i open the .exe file, it says theres a registry error. can anyone help a noob here T^T

Try installing the game properly via DAEMON Tools or an appropriate .iso reader. Then transfer whatever patches you have to in order to get the game to run.

okay, so i managed to get the game working. but something happened. i was doing Mizuki's path. ******WARNING***** IF YOU DID NOT PLAY THE GAME YET, PLEASE DO NOT READ FURTHER**** it showed Mizuki pregnant, and the family was settling on what to do. but out of no where, it starts to loop. it starts talking about Aeka's uniform. What the hell happened? can someone please explain to me what happened T^T
