So I'm starting to get interested in what all this about VN's is about. I haven't played any before, but I want to try one.

Anyone have suggestions for a good baby's first VN?

Otherwise I'm going to be picking blindly out of those. I'd prefer one that isn't explicit hentai, for example, and I have a feeling chances are picking blindly will result in just that.

Inganock is great though, probably one the best ero scenes I've seen so far in any form of media. Well tied with a plot and don't look like shitty otaku pandering. Artistic, even.

My favorite visual novel of all time... Seriously.

Though if you're looking for one that has a lesser emphasis on sex along with a good story, and is inherently similar to Fate Stay Night, you should check out Princess Waltz(They even have similar character designs).

Also, if you're looking for something to get you into FSN that's SFW you could always check out the latest movie, Unlimited Blade Works.

Movie butchered the shit out of the story anyway and even the action scenes weren't all that impressive. Hardly the best way to start. The older anime might have issues, but the way it handles everything is noticeably better.

I don't know, I actually quite enjoyed it. And the fight scenes of the movie were leagues above the series'. Though as for the story-butchering, I probably am biased as I already knew the story, so perhaps you have a point there.

In anycase I didn't mean it as a substitute for the games, they are much better than the series or the movie in any version, but it's an acceptable quick taste of the franchise, especially for the SFW crowd.
