Hey Dollars!

With the growing fight against the developpement of new Mega Centers (notably for AI) around the world, a lot of people are working on making information more accessible for the population.

Here in Quebec, a website listing every major data center, including pending projects, has been recently published for this very purpose. I thought it'd be interesting to share this with y'all to inspire the same initiative world wide.

As a group working on the betterment of society, I believe it is our duty to fight the developpement of any new mega data center. Those infrastructures have huge environmental impacts, require enormous powerload of energy which puts pressure on the municipalities where they're built, generate constant noise that has been proved to have a negative effect on the health of the citizens who live near the building and has a major impact on water polution as well. AI is also more and more used for military purposes, and mega centers that are spawning around the world are in a good part built to answer this demand. So while invididual use of generative AI is it's own issue, it is not the reason behind these behemoth prjects. These are literally going to participate in murdering people around the globe more "efficiently", and impunitely by putting the decision and possible mistakes on a machine error, as we've already seen the USA and Israel do.
