My thoughts on the Dollars (7)

(correct me if this is posted in the wrong spot)

Plans for The Dollars and how we can better execute the gang using the original intended ideals set by "Mikado".

1: Spread the word. This can be done a number of ways. Producing merchandise, cards, flyers, drawing graffiti, or even simply suggesting it to a friend and encouraging them to recruit their friends.

2: Charity events. I see that a lot of what we have set up in the "missions" section involves charity events and missing persons info pages. I feel like we as Dollars dont actively contribute to charity as much as we try to promote it, and considering our population is roughly 5000-7000 people worldwide, I think more can be done.

3: Events: Now, I know there isnt exactly a lot of us, and we are spread out pretty far, but as a group thats been active for nearly 8 years, I believe we can make it an effort/priority to actually see and converse with real Dollars. Of course this would be exclusive to those who could potentially travel to an established venue, but the idea of it happening should be enough for all others to settle on.

4: I think we need a better platform of discussion with other Dollars, such as an official Skype, Oovoo, Kik, and Chatzy page, etc.

I just recently became an active member of the Dollars after quite some time of being absent, and I feel like there are very doable, necessary changes and efforts that can be put into it rather than us all sitting behind monitors and doing RTT/WYR threads. This is all soley my opinion, and you can disagree or not. I am not trying to make this a serious issue with staff, but rather something that just us members can partake in by doing our part to better the world.

I only have one objection to this. Do not do any graffiti. The rest of this I do agree with however.

I do feel that I see more people talking about charity events that are going on, but never really see anyone talk about the things that they have been doing. I'm sure many of us are actively participating in some sort of volunteer work or charity, but because we don't share these experiences it gives the impression that we are not doing anything. I'm guilty of that myself.

>>1 I agree with what's said in here, and would like to add if you think more can be done, concerning charity events, or charities in general. Then the process of making a non-profit can be easy, and depending on income fairly inexpensive. The only obstacle I see with making a non-profit is trying to find a good agent for it, unless you happen to have a few friends in high places that could help. Then again making a charitable organization could go against what some say the Dollars are, a shadowy type group.

These ideas seem good, and I agree. >>2 has a point with the graffiti, and I think we should take that into consideration when choosing how to propagate

Agree!アッサリ! how about charity education? Like teaching people online for free, stuff like talents, hobbies, languages, subjects, arts...etc?
