Would you prefer to have users directed from the password page to the about page instead of the main board?

I've asked a couple users about their preference, and have gone on to ask Reltair how difficult it would be. He said it'd be fairly easy if others thought it was a good idea.

Making this change would give new users a chance to read the basics before exploring the rest of the site. (A job currently tasked to numerous info threads.)

There's no way to force someone to read it. Even if we made people accept it like an eula, most people would click okay without thinking twice. I just think it's better than constantly arguing over the necessity of info threads on main. This way users will have a harder time pleading ignorance.

The about page isn't a "wall of text" like some of the info threads. It a quick and helpful read.

Not to mention, I have no idea how many users even acknowledge the tabs on top while exploring the site for the first time.

The poll has only gotten 8 responses in over a weeks time. It's really important we have as many opinions as possible on this, because it may lead to a change in the website. Simple yes/no response is all it takes, and there's an option for you to submit your own related suggestions.

(I accidently saged my response out of force of habit. Responding to shitposts is starting to get to me ;-;)

When I asked, it was hypothetical, and focused on how difficult such a change would be. If anything, I like to imagine they're surprised to have the idea come up at all.

I'm trying to do this as fairly as possible seeing that it may effect the site as a whole. Even to extent of not voting on the poll myself.

Okay, so Just in case Reltair redirects from password page to the about page, what are we gonna do about the current threads like "What not to post on main" or "what not to ask on main" are we gonna observe first before we do something about it??

I mean, they're still informative.
Plus, newbies probably still won't read the about page - the possibility that they get the message after reading the same things on the about page and then on main again is higher lol

The best case scenario is that the threads become irrelevant and need to be bumped less often, or (if we're really lucky) not at all.

so what they'll see first after the password page is the about page containing the site description and links that could direct them to the right board instead of just two links already on the about page(Read this if you're new and FAQ)
