Hi guys !

I've been around for a while now (more than a year according to the French thread), and what really grinds my gears is the "moderators" who shout at people for them to resurrect an old thread, or not to post something,... (you know, the "[rude comment] - link - /sage" posts).

And every time, they end up killing conversations.

I don't know why they need to do that (maybe they're losers who need to prove themselves they've got authority), but anyway they're a burden for this site, and just obstruct it, and prevent new ppl to come.

And whenever one leaves, a new comes.

How can we subdue them, please ?

And please, guys, instead of

"you're ****, here's the link - /sage",

just reply "According to *link*, [sum up of the previous conv]".

Is that difficult ?

*sigh* We do it to keep the site clean. We do not need several threads for the same topic, and as I explained to you on Tech, we just cut down on clutter. The reason self proclaimed moderators are even here is to handle things when the real ones aren't available.

If we sum up the previous argument instead of redirecting people, it makes them think that it is okay to create multiple threads, and that will end in clutter on the boards.

Also, I don't need to prove that I have any authority, because I don't lay claim to any kind of it. I don't act like I own this place, because I don't. The reason I moderatever is because I respect the site enough to try and keep it clean from trash.

I'm sure that since you've been here for 'so long' that you know about the many threads created by people complaining about the mods, and the many ones created to address why they act so rude. Please continue your argument on those threads, instead of cluttering the board with your own. 😊😊😊

I can go in the street to arrest and yell at anyone who badly crosses the street, but the problem would be ME. I'm not any policeman, nor people needed someone to do that.

Why don't you create fancy topics, if you want this site to go forward ?

Nobody asked me to. Like I said, I did it out of respect for the site's cleanliness.

Also like I already said, if I let it go, people think it is okay to create duplicate threads, and they clutter the boards.

I'm not running in the streets and arresting people, I'm cleaning boards. Two completely different concepts.

I do want this site to move forward, and people are more than welcome to create topics that are relevant, and have not been rehashed.

If you do not like my methods, why don't you moderate your own way? I will assure you, you will go from obnoxious white-knight, to a bitter moderator in the blink of an eye.

You realize all the 'useful' threads like what not to post on main or fax, would be buried the day it was posted and all you'd be able to see is the s hit posts, or the treads belonging else where, then you'd be crying 'we need mods!'
Yes you could very well go outside and yell at the person in the street to warn them that it's unsafe, would they listen? Probably not.

If I wanted to argue the point of this thread, my main reason for this to be taken down is the massive 'whiteknight' situation you've created.
Ryus gotten better responding to news who don't know anything, but id prefer someone whom gets vocal and is borderline rude then a mod who has no backbone.
Why don't you create more meaningful threads instead of taking your disproval out on the mods?

How about thinking of all the angles instead of your own view? You'd make and better argument in the first place, or show us your version of moderating and we'll critic you

I understand where you are coming from but the problem is that some people are really persistent and are just here to piss others off, pushing their ego by replying to their own posts, make up storys and so on. If people are new on this site and make a duplication of a thread (let's be honest there are many threads here and you lose sight of it very quickly if you are not used to it and know the controls. The walls of text on the main board aren't exactly eye-candy either) then I don’t think that they deserve being screamed at but like I said some are really annoying ones who take up space for those who really want to talk about something that bothers them and need advice (especially on the personal board. I've seen some pretty messed up stuff there to be honest).

Now I have nothing against bumping old threads. In fact I think it’s good that old threads get bumped as long as they are still relevant so they won't be forgotten. But it doesn't make sense to bump an old thread about a suggestion on the suggestions board that our Admin is already working on or denied and won't add to this website.

Please don't forget that this site doesn't have professional mods and so some people do it voluntary in their spare time. Everyone has good and bad days and when you like this website but constantly see other users spamming, not reading rules and cluttering this website up with their threads that pushes down important topics and make this website even more confusing than it already is it can go on your nerves a lot.

Now I’m not defending those who just scream at other users because they feel like it. That kind of modding is not acceptable but please try to understand where these guys (and girls) are coming from

Then , why don't we create at least a "moderation chart", preventing the rudeness problems ?

And what about bringing forward the fact they are rules and these rules ? Seriously, have you tried to find them ? You don't when you're new !

There are few times that the rule threads are not in the top five, so there is absolutely no reason for them to be ignored.

Yeah as the others said if we didnt do this the whole site would be clogged up with useless threads that are in the wrong sections ect ect.

Ive never claimed any authority here what soever, and really if you have been here awhile you should know how many shit posts there are. Main would be clogged up with introductions and stupid suggestions if we didnt have the "mods"

Another thing to add. The "mods" have kinda stopped the cussing. The only one that cussed greatly was Robo and Tanaka.
Those two have disappeared into nothingness
