Okay, first of all, I crtl + f in missions board and suggestions board if this suggestion has already been made, there are some things similar but not an actual guideline so... that's why it's posted here. but if I missed it.. pls link it here.

The missions board has been a mess lately. People would post really small missions like "putting flowers on graveyards", "walk around with 'Lost stuff' sign", and "stop suicidal people" kind of missions which is a small mission and should be put on "smaller missions thread" and other existing threads.

So my point is, Let's create a guideline for people if their mission is worthy enough for a thread of it's own, or just put in either "smaller missions thread" or "petitions thread", like the guideline in the news board.

But currently, I'm not good enough to create a guideline and I need you guys to decide whether my idea is a good idea or just complete bullshit.

so if you agree or disagree, if you have any ideas, just put it here.

I think it's a great idea! But I don't have very many ideas for guidelines :(

Just something like, don't post random stupid stuff and examples of things that aren't missions

Also, where did the smaller missions board go?

My only issue is that a guideline thread will mean one less mission in the top ten.

When does it not go in a comp thread?
If it's a detailed mission that requires significant discussion or the sharing of ideas, images, etc. that could warrant, a thread of 1000+ replies, then it can have its own thread, even if it fits into an existing compilation thread. However, a link to it should still be posted in the comp thread.

When creating a mission, think: have I been here for less than three days? Am I really eager to make a mission? If so, I'm probably making a mission just for the sake of making a mission, because it sounds really cool. Get your yayas out in the Smaller Missions Thread if you absolutely must.

If your mission has anything to do with smiling, being nice, generically 'helping [insert type of people here]', cleaning graffiti, writing things down on a piece of paper / mirror / text message / etc, just don't. This site has been up for five years, and most of what is coming to your mind has also come to the mind of many thousands of other people.

Try doing some missions before you make them.

You might get yelled at by other members for making a 'duplicate' or 'bad thread'. This is normal here. If you honestly don't think you did anything wrong, post a link to your thread in the Random Thought Thread over in Random asking for opinions, and the other regulars + mods will be more likely to take a look at it. Try not to freak out if it does turn out you made a mistake; most of us did in our early days.

That way, we can add something to the guidelines like, "A mission needs a clear objective," etc.
