I've been considering making an interactive FAQ. Just a simple visual-novel style thing that we can host off-site, or Reltair can iframe into an FAQ page, that inspired users can click through to learn about how the site in a less... "wall of text"-y format.

It would be broken down into question branches they can follow to clear up whatever they don't get. There'd also be how-to-post versions for specific boards that are more difficult to navigate (like Missions and Main).

The graphics would be pretty simple, maybe feature a character who reacts to the questions w/ accessibility voice overs if I'm not feeling lazy. It shouldn't take more than a day to make either way.

What questions would you want to see covered in it that aren't currently discussed in the FAQ?

Something that should be added to the IFAQ:

Information about the map and a visual explanation of how to add yourself to it. I see that Muck mentioned it on the Map thread, so I want to make a note of it here.

I think it's a good idea. The alternative to a wall of text would be much more helpful to people who don't really learn by reading, but interacting and doing something. An interactive FAQ would be like a tutorial, essentially, right? A more visual and potentially audible way of learning that people will likely be more interested in than going less than halfway through the FAQ and saying "screw it, I'll wing it because this is boring and I don't have the attention span for this wall of text"

As far as things to add, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head but if I come up with anything, I'll post it here.

I'm finishing up a live2d base over the next couple days for something else that can be adapted for this, so I wanna work on this then. I'll probably have the ifaq done around the end of the week. (Can always change stuff then once feedback has been gotten ofc.)

Here's the general layout. The logo is temporary 'til I can get some nice animu graphics in that spot. Text is just placeholder stuff for now. I'll be tweaking things as necessary now that I'm adding the actual questions o:

Btw, the buttons will probably be halved in height unless I stumble across any two-line questions. I just wanted to fit those few for now to make sure everything is functioning.

Tbh I was doubting that an interactive FAQ would be a good thing because I had no idea how it would look like but that draft looks pretty nice, I'm all for it now :o
There's one thing that just came to my mind though: How are we going to update/add stuff to it, if it actually gets implemented into the site?

and where would it go on the site?? would it just be a link on main that we have to keep bumping, or are you gunna ask admin-sama to add it as a page?? (i mean a page at the top like the about or help page...)
