I mean it's a good Idea, but showing up to one event proves nothing. Get their contact info, then invite the same people to multiple things. When they show up consistently, then invite them.

It has been our long standing rule that individual members may display their membership in public, but the group as a whole must remain secret and impartial. We don't want to recruit a whole bunch of random people, but rather a hand picked few.

Can you give me the link of these rules? Honestly, I don't have any idea about the rules. Anyway, the way understand this group is completely the opposite of what you're saying. The members remain anonymous but the group as a whole will be noticed by the public because of the actions it will be doing.
If you really want to help, do you really need to display your membership of the said group? If we use the anime as a reference, the DOLLARS is pretty famous right? But the members are anonymous, you can't tell who's a member or not.
Anyway, what's the point of having a "secret group", if it's members are known right?
