If you're on this site high chances that you've seen the anime Durarara.And if you have seen the show then you know how a good portion of the plot focuses on urban legends and odd stuff happening in a small town. While we don't live in the world of Durarara, that doesn't mean that our own towns and cities are without their own weirdness and legends. Basically I'm proposing that there should be Urban Legend/Odd stuff board so we can share/document our towns legends and personal encounters with the strange.
Not really. Since it's world-wide instead of just 1 or 2 cities, there are gonna be thousands of different threads. Duplicates are more than likely to be present since people don't bother checking whether there's an older thread. Good luck trying to find anything in that chaos.
Belive it or not, where i live we have a kind of urban legend that is quite similar to the black rider from the show...
the legend is that on certain nights when your driving around the back roads of the town you can hear like a lot of horses running around and hear somone laughing and as the laugh gets louder the galloping doesto and a black mist evelopes you and weird things happen
where i live we have this story of a ghost ship also known as the fire ship. it is said that about a century ago pirates came to exchange things with the natives living here. the captain was the only on who could speak the native language so he was the one to deal with the native but while he wasn't paying attention his crew kidnapped 2 native girl, turns out they had been doing this for years, and once they where done with them they drop them into the sea but this one year the captain found them and rescued them they told him not to go back to his ship because a terrible misfortune would happen with the ship but he went back anyways. not long after the boat crashed on the rocks and sank into the sea. the captain survived by swimming back to shore. once he got to shore the natives gave him a boat to return home and that same evening a huge red light appeared on the surface this ball of fire took the form of the captains boat and people could see the crew on the ship signalling for the captain. and still today people say to have seen the boat on the water.
