Is there a way to control what advertisements show up on the side of the screen? I'm just trying to give some encouragement to some troubled people in Personal and I see some lady's butt blaring in my face on the side of the screen, with DATE HOT ARAB SINGLES on the bottom.
I don't look up anything regarding Arabs or dating, so don't bother saying, "it's based on what you search for."
Is there any way to change the ads to something a bit more... um... pleasing to the eye?
Websites only have so much control over what ads show on their pages. What you can do is click the square at the top right of the ad, where there should be an option to report it or opt out of ads from that advertiser.
Also, ads aren't necessarily based on what you search for but rather what your customer interest profile is. You can see how Google profiles you by going to https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
If you use Chrome, AdBlock is super easy to use. Sll you have to do is google it (it should show up with a link to it in the Chrome store) and then download. It's free too. I don't know if there's AdBlock for other browsers though, since I only use Chrome.
