alright. so. I want some serious input on this please.

When the new people flood in here the first thing that they tend to do is post an intro in the main. They usually only read the top thread and then move on because there are four threads about being new. I was thinking of making one thread to welcome them and give them links to the other threads. So it's all in one place and they won't get bored scrolling through all the new user threads.

I personally prefer this idea because Every day I have to bump four threads and then there's only room for one other thread to be on the top of the page. I know that in total the site will show the top ten threads, but still. Wouldn't you rather bump one thread than four?

Anyways., Please tell me if you think this is a good idea or not. Thanks guys!

i agree with you, but im not sure it would work...

Is it at least worth a try? I mean. If it really doesn't work we can always sage it and send it down until it gets removed right?

those new people where lazy and only read half of the thread and it was maybe the same size as the "Read this if you're new" thread, maybe a paragraph or 2 more...

but they didn't want to read it, they wanted to be a Dollar right away and ignored that 1 thread that was always at the top of the page

but the way they do it now, yes it is a little overkill with 4, but people cant ignore the entirety of main telling them what to do, they are more than likely to read one of the 4 rather than reading it at all if there is just 1

idk what they did before I arrived, because considering how old this site is 2 years still makes me a new member myself, but it didn't work any better than what they have going, if you go down in the archives far enough there is waaay more permasaged stuff than there is now. It may not be very effective to have 4 threads but it is more effective than having just 1
