Hey, so I've been seeing a lot of threads about nationalize Dollars, Globalize Dollars, etc, but to be completely honest I think that's actually heading in the wrong direction.

See, national/globalization is great for online events. For blowing up petitions or things like Tab For A Cause. But for IRL things, it just doesn't work. Now if it's an event like About the Dollars Day, or a national/global Free Hug Day, then that's fine. But I think the majority of what we want to do is small scale local things. And to do that, we need to focus on local groups. Cells, if you will.

I often describe the Dollars as being the angel to Anonymous' demon, since while they are more chaotic neutral, we're a bit more neutral good. And regardless of our similarity or lack thereof to them, many things still apply to both, predominantly that IRL activities should be handled on a local level. I mean, what do UK Dollars care if there's a lost dog or a missing person in Indiana? Even if they wanted to help, what are they going to do, hop on a flight? This site is great for planning online and global events, but I think where we need to focus, and where we, as a group, can make the most difference and do the most good, is on the local scale. That's why I put together the Carolina Dollars forum and why I want to encourage others to similarly organize their own local cells. I think in that way, we can really do some good.

i agree with chu but this goes in missions, this is for suggestions about the website its self, not the Dollars as a group

>>2 That's what I thought at first but then I noticed the Nationalize thread was here. That's why I pit this one here. By bad though.

We've mentioned cells in our posts.

We don't even talk about globalization in the smallest of parts. You're making high quality posted a and threads, and I don't want to see you wasting time. Sorry to say, but this site isn't ready for that sort of stuff.

That may be true but Anom is right. We need to make a localization and have moderators for each state, province and country. Sure there may not be a lot of people readily involved but this is a chance to do some real good. A concrete form of good. This is our chance to change the world for the better to prove the world isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I mean isn't that the whole point of the Dollars to do good and inspire greatness in others? If not what are we other than a bunch of people posting on a forum? We could make a real difference in the world and I don't know about the rest of you guys but I want to be have a part in making a new future not destroying it. ~K

I agree with what you are saying Kaki. We've had threads that actually mentioned all of this before. By creating localized groups, we will become more organized and strengthen the bonds of members within those groups.

Exactly Hawk-san I sincerely hope this idea can take of because it's a chance to make a solid difference in the communities we come from.

The problem is that while we have both the means and the ideas necessary for a project such as this, a scant few of us actually wish and volunteer to participate; and, even fewer actually follow through. The internet is mostly for those who wish to speak anonymously through avatars or improvised online personalities. Think of this like a small creature trying to crawl across a sand dune: every step is made carefully, one wrong move or a strong gust and you're buried by shifting sand. The ideas eventually overwhelm the original thought, and your carefully thought out plan ends up buried in a sea of obscurity. Or perhaps I'm just rambling on again...

I love the idea, but executing it would be difficult. If you need any kind of help, I would love to be involved!
