After still seeing topics on main that are off topic, and just plain hate posts for shits and giggles, I think we should make it where all posts on main go into a queue and thus are activated once a mod (or Reltair) can see them. This will greatly reduce (all) wrongfully placed topics (but still allowing regular comments via each topic to be posted normally.)

This would clean up the board and help ease our bumping and saging unless need be, and keep posts from being on the top of the list just because it's active, due to a troll opening topic, or a troll who continues to bump a topic until it's permasaged.

Give me your feedback. I believe it should only be on Main.

Then the Queue is sent to all mods (and Reltair) via an email update just saying "BBS Queue has been Updated" so as to just make them aware. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wouldn't having active mods solve this issue? The queue is far too much and the RSS feed exists for a reason as well.

2) I honestly don't think the mods feel like reading through every single thread suggested to make a call of whether or not it should be posted on Main. It would be more time consuming than permasaging and would require tougher decisions since there wouldn't be any community input to go by.

Also main is the "main" place that also needs the Captcha the most. Remove the shortcut, and add a Captcha, and there'd be a big decrease in wrongly placed topics and troll posts.

Would adding thread you like to 'favourite' list or email notification for new replies to thread you 'follow' be a good idea?

Going to bring this topic back up since even after we added the verification code, we haven't seen too much of a decrease in shitty threads on Main.

Now instead an admin only queue, would it be possible to have it for members? All topics go into a queue upon being posted, and there is a vote function beside it (showing the title and opening post) and once it gets like 10 votes from us members, it goes into Main? Keep the verification code so the queue isn't flooded, though.

But I want to suggest having the function added into the test board for a little while so that we can test to see just how well it works, and a topic on main redirecting to it.

And I'm also still waiting on that captcha to be removed. The only people it's hurting are the ones who post regularly on that board, meanwhile the majority of the everyday spam comes from new members who post once and leave.

Could we step it up a bit and keep what all the discussion threads we have there right now (we have enough), and make it so that only mods and Reltair can post there? Pretty, pretty plz?

It is just a very stupid idea in and of itself to do.

That is why I feel we need a queue, possibly with a filter to easily filter queue search results, so that only topics with a set vote reached will appear on the main board. We aren't going to get a shit ton of newbies voting all at once on bad topics this way as it is.

Th's the point- Main doesn't need constant new discussions since plenty of discussions are already there- and we mainly use it to get Newbs to understand the site more, anyway.

No. It's quick. And it's not messy or time-spending like a queue.

Then, what if someone actually does have a good topic idea? We shouldn't really need them to go on suggestions just to ask a mod to create the topic. Not unless we also introduce at the same time, a sub-board on suggestions just for suggesting topics that the mods can post on main, and even then we're not supposed to know who the mods are. Right then that kills off any potentially new topics being created.

So what you want to suggest is a lock down, and not have any new form of topics being created unless from Reltair, and like Hell Reltair is going to be bothered to create serious topics when he barley has time for the site as it is.

Your idea will kill the site more than actually helping it.

A lot of the discussion topics on Main could actually be put elsewhere: Some in Personal, Some in Random, and Some in News.

There was once discussion of a philosophy board, and if you created that, then Main can be off limits and used only for telling ppl how the site works.

No if you read I corrected this by saying having the queue involving people going and clicking to vote on a topic. Once it reaches a certain amount it'll remove it from the queue and add it onto main.
