Hi guys so I know a lot of us are pretty creative and do art or write manga or fiction or do flash animations or have some skills such as programming or website designing or speak multiple languages etc so I thought it would be cool if we could have a "Talent Swap" page where you basically post what talent you can offer and what talent you're looking for.

Example:

I've always wanted to make a manga or an anime and I have a lot of good ideas but I'm no good at art and script writing isn't my strongest suit. I'm just an Ideas guy so I could post on the page something like:

Looking for:

- An animator/artist to help bring my ideas to life
- A script writer to help me with dialogue

Can offer:

- Basic FX tutorials on After Effects
- Economics essay proof reading

etc etc

This way we could all help eachother out in returns for favors while still remaining anonymous. A "Talent Swap" thread could be enough and maybe a page isn't necessary but since there are always new users could be a nice way to attract everyones eye and a place people could always return to.

Need a website designing? Let's check the talent swap page!
Wanna practice written Japanese? Let's check the talent swap page!
Need some fan art done? Let's check the talent swap page!

I think it would be a great way to strengthen the community through helping eachother! Anyway let me know your thoughts guys!

I like the idea, but this website just isn't the right place for it. There are plenty of other sites to use if you want something to that effect.

If you're really set on having something here, try making a thread in the Art board for it.

Okay so along with that board we will get:
- A million people thinking they can do something they can't
- A million amatuer artists and writers making threads advertising their work
- A million new members that will make a thread then immediately forget it exists
- A million people willing to make a thread and never follow through with anything
- A million people posting personal details onto the general internet
- A million trolls trying to make a quik'n'ez giggle.
- 3 people who will actually contribute or benefit from the board.

I really like the idea too. It is true though that we might be the minority and could have a lot of trash in there but not neccessarily. I think that most people will just leave it alone.

For those of you saying it's a good idea, I'd yet again like to point not only to my previous post in this thread but also to the related boards (Literature, Art). After seeing the varied quality of pieces there and, more importantly, the lack of people asking for help with projects, I don't see how a section like this could be in demand on this particular site.

Don't just say, "It's a good idea." In fact, never say that on Suggestions; give a full explanation of your opinion. The whole point of this board is to debate whether or not something is a good idea for the masses prior to implementing it.

I really like this idea! There would be the people who slack off or forget about their threads, but I think that there would be a good number of members that go through with it to rule out the negatives.

However if there are people serious about helping or needs help for different creative projects there are websites like elance.com (I use this) where you can basically do what you're describing >>1 Mind_Mechanic. It's cool and at least you know you're dealing with people who are more committed.

I would be willing to go for it. I'm a manga artist and would love a way to get my art out there. Though, InkBlazers.com (formerly MangaMagazine) is a better place for that

That would be great! I am a pretty good writer to make stories and plot lines. Even an idea person. I can draw a little to, but I am not that good.

I'd help you if you like, im good at writing, published a couple of things aswell. I can also draw but I'm not AMAZING, im sure there are millions of artists better than me on here ;)

Wow, I just joined up on this site, and it seems to me that it is/was getting overly complicated over the years. I Agree with BarabiSama (odd name for an admin, but what eves. I think our Dollars leader should take a step back and look more closely on what this site should be. I mean, food, games, anime, music etc. If it were up to me I would re-design this site to be simpler, straighter forward, and yet still be interestingly fun. It's about helping people IN REAL LIFE, WITH REAL PROBLEMS as a group of anonymous individuals, right? E.X. someone having writers block – is personal boring crap that they can deal with themselves. E.X. someone with a problem such as, they lost something on the city train as they got off is a Dollars mission.

I just joined recently, too.
I think, it's okay to search for help on this website. But it's also hard to establish this site in the same way as it looks like in DRRR, is it? First, the admin would need everybody's cellphone number. and here, there are people assembled, probably, from more than just one country.
I think this site should still have something to do with real troubles, not writers block or anything, but I wonder if that's really realistic.

Read the FAQ as we only have ONE admin and possibly several mods around the site. Barabi is a dedicated Older member who has a strong personality.
