So I see people suggesting passwords and I thought about something that is somewhat related, but keeps the idea intact. So people are having trouble knowing when they have replies, or with getting updates with out checking the site every two seconds, so I was thinking. Everyone knows the password is baccano, and that is great. It sticks to the original idea, and bassically like the website in the anime. But I was thinking that you could make it to where after you get onto the forum you have a set password for your specific username. You can pic a little icon like the ones in the chat(just an example) that way no one can pretend to be someone, you know just how many people are on, and if you link your email to the name, then people can contact you for setting up meetings, or ask if you'd like to go to work with them if you aren't on the site(especially since we don't have an app)
That way, you can still technically be anonymous, but know who you are talking to withing the group.

AND I CANNOT EXPRESS THIS MORE, I DO NOT MEAN ACCOUNTS. You CAN'T PM someone, or click on their name and theere'd be info and shit, NO. Just a way for no one to pretend to be someoneyou've gotten to know, and a way to get updates on the site.

Plus with the icons like they had in the original anime, we could have a but of fun with who we are in the world of the dollars.

Now this is just a suggestion, and there are a few bugs in the idea, but I mean I thought it would be kinda cool.

I don't have facebook because it's pointless, and I haven't had a phone for three years now. I have my school gmail and that's it, so yeah it's possible.

Next to your name, put an exclamation point (!) and then a password (blahblahblah), and it will automatically generate a private code for you. Unless another person knows the text that comes after the exclamation point, they can't produce the same string of letters next to your name.

You can do two !! to make it more secure, and I believe hashtags (#) also work.

It's a good suggestion. I wouldn't want anyone using my username to troll or flame others but I believe we could like set up a system that could differentiate your username and stuff. For example, someone wants to take my name as theirs but they can't coz I already took it so they could rather pick out to be Kairi1 or even Kairi2 or something. Like how yahoo checks if usernames are used already and all that crap.

The layout is based on the animes's Dollars site, and in the anime the site didn't had any chat pictures. Just the chat.

A: One of the reasons is for ease of posting, the admin said. He said that he’d be more likely to post if there weren’t any accounts or something(got it off of his blog). Also, having no accounts would leave you anonymous, which is what everyone seem to like anyways. Also, and this is my opinion, this site is different than the others. They all have accounts. So we’re unique. And now you’re asking yourself, what if we get trolls, sites with accounts don’t. That’s not true, there are trolls, and people could just make a new account with new emails. We have a ban system; we’re prepared for anything. Hope that clears it up.

It would be cool to have a profile but make it in away its still anonymous, but for icons keep it like the anime. Add a PM if anyone wants to talk about something.

I was wondering if someone could make an app for the site (BBS & the chat). I guess it could be similar to kik and Instagram (sorry, but I don't have much experience with either app) or the Facebook app, but no need to register, just have the password for access (just like BBS) and your username & tripcode. That way you would know whenever you got a reply on your thread and if someone made a new thread. This would probably be best done by the admin.

PS. I got the idea from watching episode 12 of the anime.

This is all way too complex to do in a night, and despite what the OP says, it is basically accounts. It would be so much easier if everybody just used tripcodes properly x__x There is already a tripcode system set up so nobody can pretend to be you. Why do so few people use it?

Im with you on this 100%, just check with some of the guys who are good at coding, and fine tune your idea a bit, to knock out any bugs.i think some of the irc guys can help if you dont have someone to edit the site, alot of em in there seem good with tech.

As for contacting people outside of the website, we have over ten various groups for facebook, twitter, emails, texting, etc. spread out over Main and Random.

As for icons in every post, that would waste space in the server and would end up doing nothing for the site.

For me, it's actually a nice idea, to prevent people from pretending.

I'd like to get a notification on my phone when something new is posted :) As for a password... Hmm we can just add a new one. So there will be "baccano" and another-security-password. But that won't be fair for the ones who figure out the password. Like we all did.
