Hi there. I've noticed that the News page could become something huge if it had sub-categories that would organize its contents based on the locations/countries that the News took place in. It makes sense since not all news are relevant to all members since a lot of us live in different countries and have different news all the time. Also, news of different countries would get lost in the fray of news from countries where there are a lot more active users resulting in an inactive and unnoticed piece of news that which would have been given more importance if residents of that news' countries had a more precise way of finding it rather than just searching Ctrl+F (Since not all news are labeled in their title from WHICH country it happened)

News from countries would get more focus and emphasis if they are categorized in that way; the news would get more active replies from people who live in those countries since they are more affected by them.

By categorizing news by country, we get to see the status of individual countries. Individual cells of every country would be able to base their ideas of missions based on the news of their country thus achieving a better, more relevant and precise way of creating community-oriented missions. In this way, their ideas of missions become more in tune with their country's needs and deficiencies.

These sub categories would still be accessible by anyone from any country if they wish to view news from these countries.

I hope all of you would consider this suggestion.

Not enough people to have that worth the work. As of now it's not even a big board. Big boards would be like Main and Random, where everything is posted. We normally get people posting on threads in those boards a lot, every day, normally all day, and threads appearing 3 to 5 times more a day than anywhere else.

News is small and doesn't yet need any sub boards.

Thiamor, I'd like to comment about the number of threads Main, Random, and News has.

Main: 229 - 28 permasaged threads that'll get deleted in some time = 201

Random: 787

News: 613

Now, if we went on "number of threads in a board", then certainly News would be with Random in the Big Board category.

But I guess you were going for "How many posts per day". In which case, I'd have to say that Main and News get about the same, more or less. If we discount all of the threads that get posted and doesn't belong on Main, it is about the same as News, at least when News has something serious/controversial/involving either the entire world or the US. When News doesn't have anything belonging to those categories, then yes, it is pretty slow. But some people have made threads saying Main's pretty slow, before they get scolded.

So what this post was saying was that Main and News are about the same in activity, depending on the situation moreso for News. But in terms of threads, News beats Main.

>>3 It may be so that News has more threads than Main, but in either case, there aren't enough related threads to be categorized.

>>1 We do not get enough posts in specific places in News for there to be sub-boards for every country. The most recent News stories are always the top 50 (plus some old ones that get bumped up). They're not hard to browse through. Those are the only things people really need to look at; there's no reason to categorize old news for people to browse through, because it's not news anymore. If you're really curious about old news, you'd probably browse through them by title anyway, regardless of where they happened.

Of course, those are my personal opinions and assumptions.
