link to similar threads option (13)

1 Name: ala02 : 2012-12-13 23:33 ID:GjH2ikxf [Del]

How about the ability to link a trhead to another if there are some that are similar. there are soooo many threads that it's impossible to search them all and find which ones are the same. I believe, but I'm not sure, that my first and only thread got deleated cuz someone said there was one kind of like it and I didn't know. Then when I opened another one asking for search help, I got called a "whiny bitch". there are a ton of threads theat are close to the same, but when I nedded help or advise on something, it went missing. I even had it on my favorites so I could see if anyone said anything that could help. I did not join to be treated disrespectfully by someone I don't even know!!! I believe it would make it easier if there was a search similar thread option or some way to link the threads instead of a delete button for others to do willy nilly what they want with your work.

Well first of all, others don't do willy nilly with your threads. The moderators do. The moderators are people appointed by Reltair and not known to the public that is BBS.

The fucktard is strong in this thread.

In case OP didn't get it from >>2, I'll put it a bit more bluntly:

You can't delete other members' posts. It's based on ID (your scrambled IP). If your ID/IP has changed, you can't delete them, either.

Only moderators can delete posts that aren't theirs. Next time, CTRL+F keywords related to your thread to see if there is something similar already made.

man chill out yall. like i said,i'm new and it was a sugestion, so don't get yalls panties in a wad. The page asked for sugestions, so i gave one. end of story. if you don't like it, you don't have to agree, but don't go adding on a bunch of crap and being freaking potty mouthes.

Nobody ever learns when we are polite and courteous with them.

>>6 I wasn't going to comment until your post. Your logic sucks, if you're defending >>3.

You're implying that calling OP a fucktard helps in getting them to understand something, when a point was already made by >>2. There's being blunt, and then there's being uselessly rude.

Has the difference been so obfuscated that the bandwagon "regulars" just act like assholes with a half-assed justification? Before you call me a white knight, I still think OP was wrong, but their only fault was their initial misstep. By all means, be an asshole if you want, but don't try and pretend you're doing it for a good reason.

I know you're not a white-knight, Misuto.

Just with my personal experiences here, whenever I'm polite with any derp, they go off and derp some more.

>>8 He's not saying you should be polite, or have to be. He's saying back up your shit, don't just make a post calling him a fuckwad without a stated reason.

And Misuto was responding to your defending of Thiamor, if you also didn't get it.

I wasn't really defending T-more so much as just responding to #5

but whatever

>>6
what do you mean no one ever learns when someone is being polite!?! Your response there doesn't have any logic to say something like that! If you would just look at >>3 then you would understand why I was saying to chill out. You hadn't put anything to make me say you wern't being polite, but >>3 sure isn't being very polite. And i 100% agree with >>9 on not calling someone such crap with no apparent reason! Thank you >>9 and all the others really being polite!

There's some misunderstanding, in certain places.

Haru, >>5 was sound in context. In another context, your response would have made sense, but that's why I felt the need to respond. We've devolved to a point where the bandwagon mentality is to pick from a word bank of generic responses to typical situations - things like "read the FAQ before posting," "you're a dumbshit," "being polite doesn't work." They've been said enough times, albeit in situations that called for them, that people are starting to latch onto them without thinking of their meaning. This is one of those cases where it made no sense.

However, >>11, do understand some background. The hostility comes from a point in time when there really was just an absurd amount of bullshit on the boards, and what you're seeing is either the older members not calming down from that period, or newer members blindly adopting their demeanor from those days as an example. It was a pretty shitty time when the site was still relatively young, so everyone was still lenient and nice about everything when it started happening - and that was their downfall, for a while.

We've gotten past the point where the normal amount of hostility isn't even necessary in all cases anymore, though, but the mindset got so rampant it's hard to get people to understand that properly. It's case-by-case, not at all a standard.

>>12. Those were the days. Long long time ago. I use to do that shit some to. Hahaha
