For me, I collect various kinds of figurines, including but not limited to collectable: Barbie dolls, stuffed animals, porcelaine dolls, and cultural dolls.
Although Barbie dolls, porcelaine dolls, and cultural dolls are all dolls, they're completely different when it comes to the materials they're made out of and their collectability. Stuffed animals are completely different, as well, and discussions around their collectability would be on a different level. When you compare these to an anime/videogame/comic figurine, the difference is even greater. And regarding toys, what about collectables from things like Happy Meals? I have a whole box of those bastards that my father thrust on me. You can't exactly talk about them and comic figurines in the same discussion, IMO.
The discussions around them would be so different from type of figurine to type of figurine that having one thread that encompasses every type of "toy/figurine" just wouldn't be possible. However, that doesn't change that the interests in figurines amongst the Dollars isn't great enough for us to need a whole board for it. We barely have any threads for them at this point, if any at all. I think that, if someone wants to discuss it, they can put it in whatever board fits it best. If it's something that doesn't quite fit elsewhere, it would be best in Random.
