Anyway, just now I wanted to come onto this board straight from Random, and I don't like bookmarking each board, for I do not stay logged in when I shut down Firefox.

Here's my idea. There should be arrows to the left of the Categories with Sub-Categories that points to the right. When you press those, it drops down the Sub-Categories and changes points down. From there, you can access the Sub-Categories of the Category you opened. If you click it again, it retracts the Sub-Categories and points to the right again.

I like it.

If you know the name of the board you want to visit, it's not that difficult. If you want to go here in one go, just type it out. A couple of letters added to the end of the site can't be THAT time consuming.

Anyway, the idea seems alright. My only issue is that it may make the sub-threads less visible, magnifying the already-prevalent issue of people somehow ignoring the different boards. I'm just afraid we'll undo the progress we made when we implemented the intro board, and the suggestions board, and such.

Ok, let's add to this, shall we? I didn't really say that they wouldn't come out when you were in main/blah, but that we would have the option to show Sub-Categories from Categories other than the one we're on.

So, to be more specific, the suggestion in >>1 would be implemented, but the Sub-Categories of the Category you're not on would have this add-on, while the Sub-Categories of the Category you ARE one would be forced open.

But, are there really any boards other than Main and Games that have sub-boards? Test on Random doesn't count.

I feel like this would be more pertinent if we had more categorization.

I like it. I don't think it will be done, but I like it. There is one problem I see with it. Organization. People already don't post on the right board. They will probably continue to post on the main board of each section instead of subsections. Here's an example. People are posting missions and introductions on the 'Main' board even though it has subsections for that. It also makes things harder because I already have a hard time posting new threads. Every time a thread is posted you have to think, 'Where does this belong? It could be a mission, or technology, maybe it's random?'. With more sub-sections it makes it even harder. instead of having 2 or 3 boards to choose from, you'll have A LOT more choices. Then it just gets confusing. You have so many threads that could go in multiple boards that you sometimes have to look through multiple boards to find a duplicate.

When in main, the subsections will still be open and viewable no matter what, but gives the option to see those subsections when in a different board, like literature
