I wouldn't know exactly how to do this, but I would like to set up an alert system among the Dollars. Yes, I know it's sort of like the Amber Alert thing.
I was reading the post about the little girl who was lost and found dead, and I think if we set up an alert system among us Dollars about the victim (Appearance, where they were last seen, etc.)things like this could be solved. I know it's alot like Amber Alert, but really we need more of those type of things. First, though, we need to set up these alerts in the area where the person went missing. Then, it could be sent to the Dollars in that area, and they could be on the lookout.
If a Dollar sees the vehicle/person/etc., they could inform the police about it.
It could help solve crimes, guys. We are an organization to do good, right?
Now, all we need is someone to set this up. I, unfortunately, cannot do this because I am clueless how to. If someone (like the people who made the email-ing and texting groups) could set it up, that would be great.
Does anyone agree with me on this? I think it would be super helpful and useful.

Cool idea. Work out all of the programming and designing, then present to Reltair the idea and plans. I think it'd be a good idea, if done right.

This seems like a really good idea. My mom follows the Amber alerts, she says it's helpful.
You never know when someone might go missing somewhere. Just last year a friend of ours found a somewhat fresh human jawbone in our area. It's creepy to think that it could of been from someone I know.

"Well the best way to go about this, is to find a way to set up an app. The App any Dollars member can download if they want to be involved in such things, and when someone goes missing, you turn the app on, and it notifies EVERY Dollar member. I'm pretty sure there is a way to enable GPS tracking in it, so then it lists the area that the person who turned it on, is from.
I have some friends who actually can do this. I will TRY to contact them and get a Beta created. Peace, until then."

And when that app comes, I think we should call it the Dollar Holler... or something. Also, we should make it so it can be an alert for anything, whether that's a kidnapping or something else.

Well, what I'm trying to do for now, is to keep it simple enough where it shows the site, uses global Announcements, while connecting it to GPS Trackings.

The general idea is to set it up where it's formatted to fit on the phones, and when they post they can turn on a GPS tracker that shows people the general location that the post is coming from. Like from what country and what state, and what city/town/village, and/ or what have you.
Then if it's also important they can turn on 'Announcements' and it lets everyone know. Either people in the area, or everyone, depending on how hard it is to make, to differentiate between area wise and global wide announcement sending.

Then you don't get it.
Simply put, it's because if you're on the computer, you can CHECK for updates about things. We don't need to make an Alert System for people who can easily check it on their computer.
