I don't know why I did this... I was really bored in math and we didn't really have "homework" per se...

Anyway, I decided writing this code that I haven't really named yet, although I call it "Foxtext" (Fox+text). The reason why? The letter system is based off of the following sentence.

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER A LAZY DOG.

The way it works is like this. Take out any repeats in the sentence (these first time it appears doesn't count, but if it comes up a second time, it's crossed out). It should look something like this after you squish it all together:

THEQUICKBROWNFXJMPSVRALZYDG

Then, you number them, with 01=T, 02=H, and so on.

Then you fit them into a template that looks like this:

/XX) (Xs indicate where the number goes)

So "Dollars" would be written something like this:

/25)/11)/22)/22)/21)/10)/19)

I was thinking of using this for shorter hidden messages. Not long streams of text. Dear lord, that would take FOREVER...

Numbers, however, are harder. I was in math, so I decided that all the odd numbers were equations of negatives (with exception of 9) and all the evens are additions with their half-number (2+2,4+4)

This system isn't perfected yet, but it may work in short, simple texts and stuff...

Why would there ever be a need for a code? First off a code would suggest that it is IRL because what's the point of posting something in code on a site where everyone knows the code. Second, what are you posting that's so secretive that you feel it needs a code? The code itself is good, it works and I like how no body would be able to interpret it without the phrase, but there is really no use for it here.

I like it, it is really kewl. Hell, ya never know if the Yellow scarves and Blue Idiots are comin' back and could be hiding these days.

I'm pretty good at making up and decoding ciphers, but I tend to make it more complicated than it needs to be. Still, no one ever decoded one of MY messages.

I'm all for having a code, but let's not be five-year-olds here.

when i use number code(which i hardly ever do) i like to use numbers 2-9 for letters A-Z, like texting.(well, for the old phones) for example, 's' is 7777 while 'p' is just 7.

Another easy code that's a bit more difficult to decipher is using symbols. Ex: A=# B=* C=^ And you can have less common or more common symbols. You can also combine different codes by having one code for lower case and one code for capitals. You don't want the "space" to be conspicuous like it is in >>9's code, though, because once you get the gist of how the words work, you can make assumptions and use repetition to figure out the code.

I like >>1's code, but I think the "/" is a little unnecessary. Instead of writing "1", write "01". There, you have your two digits, for that is as high as the letters will go up to. Therefore, every letter utilizes two digits and you don't have to separate them with the slash.

<<4 No RP stuff here, I'm worried about that. There really are gangs that beat up Dollars members, and they're a lot worse than those in DRRR's Ikebukuro

I would be confused easily by the latter- I often read lines and words over again on accident. Then again, you are right, they aren't necessary. Maybe they could be a capitalizing symbol???

On top of that, it used to be // for vowels, but that made it easy to decipher between vowel and consonants. Although, it could still be used for those learning the code.

I also added *, which is a symbol used for repeating letters or numbers. It's written after a number/letter, not before.

If this code is used, and you know another Dollar nearby (yes, we do meet in real life sometimes...) and you're suddenly beat jumped by someone, you can text the other for help and they can call the cops. Even better, if someone ELSE is getting beat up. Then, the cops will come and stop the violence.

22)* for example, could mean "Lights Low" which means that one should inform the cops to keep their lights low, in the event that the offending gang in question has exquisitely good hearing.

It's not necessarily gang war code, rather, it's more of code to try and stop those who prevent good deeds...

I just realized, R is in Foxtext twice. I thought I was going crazy! No wonder there were 27 letters in it.

This is real life.

At first, it was a signal for if someone had spotted other gang violences or even other acts that the cops could be called for. The code is only for espionage- if someone catches you, there's no way to decode it without finding the code. And on top of that, if that code is gven, there's still a chance that the cops are going to come because you're passing the call to someone at a safer distance.

This is a good idea, but I'm FAR too lazy to decode anything, no matter how simple. If the code ever happens, I think I'd end up face-desking eveytime I saw it just because of my sheer unwillingness to translate it.

Why not just a ROT encryption? It's pretty easy AND THERE'S AN ONLINE TOOL TO CIPHER IT! Pick a number and rotate the alphabet
Like, Rot13, a=n b=o c=p, etc.

What do you guys think? We're not going to get anywhere with people just randomly babbling off codes. Anyone who is still active and has a code can email it to Aiko (or me, she would prefer I organize it since I suggested it). Of course, there will be maybe two weeks to get all the suggestions in so that we're not waiting around forever.

Then it can be posted in a new thread and everyone can take votes on which one they like. We'll have the votes open for, what, maybe a month? (If you samefag in that thread, every vote you made is automatically nullified.)

And then we'll post the results. Whatever is chosen will be the official "code" for the Dollars.

There are no rules. that´s what the dollars are about aren´t they?-so i don´t think she/he did something wrong.

In my opinion Dollars atually should actually try to change something and help others in any way which seems fitting.
That´s the main point I think the dollars are interestening and I wanted to make my contribution to this topic as well.

Um, I'm actually doing a cryptography unit at university at the moment, and I'm in the process of writing a program which will encrypt/decrypt any text you import into it (which is super easy).
