Shouldn't these two be one in the same or could there be a general category. I know this is supposed to be a site based off of Durarara but do we have to advertise it like this sheesh....

This was brought up a while ago and we decided not to because we didn't have a lot of boards at the time anyway - No one really thought about it since.

Now however, you have a point. We've gotten plenty of boards and a larger member base to actually make this a feasible option.

Now comes a bit more of a difficult part. What would it be called? Preferably needs to be 1 word.

Also, due to the way this BBS is coded, moving threads between boards is actually rather time consuming. So with that in mind - Do you propose the new board be added, and then we the members manually remake all the threads we think are worth keeping on the new board, then have the old boards deleted?

That would certainly clean up a lot of junk and duplicate threads.

If moving threads/remaking threads in the new board would be too much, I'd suggest that we rename the two boards as Animation and Comics, since anime is just basically Japanese animation and Manga japanese comics.

I think that it would be a good idea too make a different thread for Anime and Comics, but I would like to be agreed with before I actually make a thread like that, because, I would love too, but I do not want to make it just to have no one comment in it.

There are separate categories for anime and manga because they are two different things entirely. Anime is in video format. While manga is in written, comic-book-style format.

I think you could sub category both anime / manga under Art. I'm not saying remake them either I'm saying MOVE the links in the side menu to be a sub cat. like Missions is a sub cat. of Main.

Now that I'm thinking about it some more you could throw Literature and Films under Art too.

Our interests range in many places, so we can't ever be considered a fansite, since fansites are only devoted to a certain subject or person.

Sure you could throw all that under art. I'm just saying consolidate to SOME degree to make it a little harder to find where people are talking about durarara like a motherfucker if they so choose. It doesn't have to include ALL music games food etc...

But that's not really necessary then. Only thread currently talking about Durarara is the english dub thread on Anime, and it's bumped down to the 16th, so there's no problem there. In the games board, or more like the visual novel, there's one there too, but it's not visited much, so again nothing there. Art has the chatroom icon thread, but that's not mentioning Durarara.

My point is, doing things because of a precaution may be good and all, but if it's unnecessary, then it's not needed. Only problem with people thinking BBS is a fansite is due to all of the threads on Main, not anime, manga, etc.

In any case, if you really want to "change our image of a fansite" we should really rename the boards, to appeal to a wider audience and etc. Anime -> Animation and Manga -> to Comics. Appeals to a wider audience and gets rid of any sort of fansite-ish shit people may think. Killing two birds with one stone, as I think the saying goes.

Making a sub board is only necessary when things get excessive or something like that. Hiding shit under a board just to preserve some type of image is hardly a reason for anything in my opinion.
