You may be insecure, you may want people to see you as cooler than you are, maybe you even put yourself lower than you are.

None of the stated excuses are justified by lying. Lying hurts you and those around you more than you would think. Soon people pick up on your lies and they will leave you. Even if you are insecure about your ‘boring life’ people don’t like liars. Honestly your boring life is more interesting than any fabrication you can make up. People will respect you for your boring life and will like you more due to it. The best type of person is someone who can wear his/her insecurities and learn to defeat them.

Listen to me, the sooner you stop lying about who you are the sooner you can feel happy, also that feeling of loneliness although you have multiple friends will soon disappear.
